KAVULICH CONSULTING - Key Persons

Larry Kavulich

Job Titles:
  • Banco Popular As Vice President and Manager of Treasury Management for Illinois
Larry Kavulich has spent over 20 years consulting clients on banking and investment options. He began his banking career with National City Bank's management trainee program. Through this program he was exposed to banking operations, management committees and numerous banking departments. Following a rotation in Treasury Management, Mr. Kavulich chose this for his career and in 1998 earned his Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification. A relocation in 1999 brought Mr. Kavulich to Chicago Illinois for a sales position at Old Kent Bank. He was recognized in the Circle of Excellence as being the top performer on the Treasury Management sales team. Mr. Kavulich later joined Banco Popular as Vice President and Manager of Treasury Management for Illinois. He quickly grew the department and became an advisor to his staff, as well as to other Banco Popular Treasury Management colleagues nationwide. His responsibilities included business development, cross-selling, sales training, and working with operations and marketing on policy, procedures and new product development. In 2005 Mr. Kavulich was recruited to help with the turnaround of Midwest Bank & Trust and create a treasury management division. While at Midwest Bank, he was instrumental in the conversion of acquired banks and actively participated in multiple executive committees including Pricing & Funding. It was during this committee that he developed a keen awareness of bank funding matters. Mr. Kavulich made a career change in 2007 to join The Reserve as vice president and national sales person for 10 states and Puerto Rico. Here he sold treasury management products to banks, offering investment solutions for their commercial clients. The solutions included on-balance and off-balance sheet options. His unique perspective as a former banker was invaluable at The Reserve as he educated colleagues and management in two areas: the extensive internal processes a bank employs for vendor selection and a focused training effort to the bank's sales force on sales and marketing. Both areas led to improved sales at the company. Over the years, he has created an extensive network of trusted banker clients as well as other vendors. With a strong understanding of bank funding needs, Mr. Kavulich began consulting bank clients directly on funding solutions and services. In 2012 he formally established Kavulich Consulting Corporation. Banks can utilize Kavulich Consulting Corporation as a diligent resource when researching funding options. Mr. Kavulich holds a BS in Finance from Central Michigan University, where he also received training at Perry School of Banking.
