LACTATION WORKS

Sharon Schopfer of Lactation Works is a board-certified lactation consultant. A native of Wilmington, she trained at and gained her first seven years' experience with breastfeeding through the Texas Medical Center in Houston. After certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners in 2010, she worked as a lactation consultant and educator at Women's Hospital at the Texas Medical Center. She later returned to Wilmington and formed Lactation Works... Besides working in the lactation field, Ms. Schopfer breast-fed her two sons and daughter, experiences which gave her first-hand knowledge in not only the skills, but also the challenges and satisfaction of breastfeeding.
