JOHANNA SCHWARZBECK LOTUS ARTS

Johanna Schwarzbeck grew up in the pristine countryside of Austria. At the age of 11, she began studying drawing and painting with renowned academic painter Irma Gade. She completed a three-year apprenticeship program in fine art restoration and gilding in Salzburg and graduated from Innsbruck Tyrol, with a Masters Degree as a journeywoman. Having extensive experience in art conservation, she has worked in Vienna under Dr. Manfred Koller at the prestigious Conservation Institute of Vienna (Bundesdenkmalamt). She also worked as a fine art painter for Peter Staffler's studio in Vienna... Since moving to New York City in 1984 she has worked for auction houses (Christie's and Sotheby's) various restoration companies and private clients as an independent restorer and gilder. Johanna also studied at the "Art Students League" in Manhattan under Bruce Dorfman.
