BAY RED CAP

The Montego Bay Airport Red Cap Porters Association Limited was formed in 1967, under thee direction of John Pringle and Colonel R. T. Michelin. Both gentlemen, now deceased, established the service starting with 15 members, most of who came from a military background. These 15 selected men went to Kingston for training at the police academy in Twickenham Park, where they did drills and educational training to ensure that they were mentally and physically fit for this strenuous job.
