Dr. Ana R..Guadalupe-Quinones started as Acting Rector of the University of Puerto Rico in October, 2009 and was named Rector in October 2010. Her professional and academic path has been linked most of her life with the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus where she obtained a BS in Chemistry and later her MS in Analytical Chemistry. She also has a Ph.D. in Analytical Electro Chemistry from Cornell University and a post-doctorate from the University of North Carolina. In 1988 Dr. Guadalupe was named Chemistry professor and in 1994 was coordinator of the Graduate Chemistry Program of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. During 1999-2000 she worked as Director of the Office of Academic Affairs of the Vice Presidency of Investigation and Academic Affairs of the Central Administration of the UPR. Since 2001 acted as Dean of Graduate Studies and Investigation of the Rio Piedras Campus. Under her tenure, the DGSI completed the evaluation of practically all the graduate programs of the Rio Piedras Campus and started with the creation of a Model and an Evaluation Plan in 2004 that ended with the enrollment of a high quality student body that increased the graduate students who enroll and graduate from the Rio Piedras campus. Ana Mari Cauce

Ana Mari Cauce, Provost and Executive Vice President, joined the University of Washington faculty in 1986 as an Assistant Professor after earning degrees in English and Psychology from the University of Miami in 1977, summa cum laude and with departmental honors, and a Ph.D. in Psychology, with a concentration in Child Clinical and Community Psychology from Yale University in 1984. Cauce holds a joint appointment in American Ethnic Studies, and secondary appointments in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies, and in School of Education. She has held numerous administrative positions at the UW, including Director of the UW Honors Program, Chair of American Ethnic Studies, Chair of Psychology, Executive Vice Provost, and Dean of Arts and Sciences. As Provost she is the University's Chief Academic Officer, responsible for overseeing the education, research, and service missions in the Schools and Colleges and other academically oriented units. She is also responsible for resource allocation to maintain excellence throughout the University and to meet strategic goals. She also works closely with the President on strategic planning and long-term decision-making. Cauce maintains an active research program, focusing on adolescent development, with a special emphasis on youth "at-risk." She has also been active in work encouraging women and minorities to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. She is a recipient of the Dalmas Taylor Distinguished Contribution Award and the James M. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association and the Distinguished Contribution Award from the Society for Community Research and Action. Her research has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Child and Human Development, The National Institute on Mental Health, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, as well as the National Science Foundation. She has served as president of the Society for Community Research and Action and associate or contributing editor of American Journal of Community Psychology, Child Development and American Psychologist. Cauce is a recipient of the University of Washington's Distinguished Teaching Award. She remains active in the classroom and continues to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

Anthony Girifalco - EVP

Anthony Girifalco is Executive Vice President of the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC). Mr. Girifalco has been with the DVIRC since it opened in 1988. For over 20 years he has provided research and information services to companies, managed marketing and public relations activities, written state and federal funding proposals and reports, performed legislative communications, developed company networks, and managed a regional economic development partnership that leveraged over $20 million in state and federal funding into the region. He continues to be a recognized leader in workforce development and education. Currently, Mr. Girifalco has multiple roles with the organization, including planning and executing corporate strategy, developing programs and services, conducting research, and coordinating and writing proposals for the Center and its partners. He has authored or co-authored winning proposals to the U.S. Department of Labor, Commerce and Energy and is currently serving as Principal Investigator for a National Science Foundation award. Collaborating with area educational institutions, he helped to create and manage the Applied Engineering Technology education initiative to develop a career pathway for advanced manufacturing. Girifalco recently served on the Board of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association and is currently Board Chair for the 21st Century Partnership for STEM Education. He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University.

Antonio A. Nunez

Antonio A. Nunez received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Florida State University in 1977 and after postdoctoral work at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst he joined the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Program of Michigan State University (MSU) where he holds the rank of Professor. At MSU, Dr. Nunez was Associate Chair and Graduate program Director for Psychology from 1997 to 1999 and then was appointed Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in The Graduate School, which is his current position. He is the recipient of the MSU Teacher Scholar Award and the Distinguish Doctoral Graduate Award from Florida State University. He is also a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. Dr. Nunez' research is in the areas of behavioral neuroendocrinology and circadian rhythms.

Arnold Burger

Arnold Burger obtained the B.Sc. degree in Physics-Mathematics (1976), M.A. in Materials Science (1981), and Ph. D. in Materials Science (1986), all from the The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1986 he joined the Department of Physics at Fisk University and since then he has developed at Fisk a program in crystal growth of wide bandgap semiconductor materials and their use in electronic and optical devices. He participates presently in the research at the Center for Physics and Chemistry of Materials. Currently, Dr. Burger is a Professor in the Department of Physics and the Director of the Materials Science and Applications Group and also holds the position of adjunct professor of physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Burger advised over 65 graduate students and 14 postdoctoral scholars; has published over 400 papers, book chapters, proceedings and invited presentations and was awarded seven patents in these fields. In 2010, Dr. Burger was appointed to a three-year term as a member representative to the Board of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA). Dr. Burger is an elected Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Member and a Fellow of the SPIE optics and photonics society and together with his colleagues and collaborators is a three-time recipient of the R&D100 Award, in 1998, 2001, and 2010 for developing new methods to grow crystals and various compact sensors to detect and image radiation.

Brian Argrow

Brian Argrow was appointed associate dean for education in the College of Engineering and Applied Science in August 2007. He is the Look Professor of Aerospace Engineering Sciences and directs the Research and Engineering Center for Unmanned Vehicles. Professor Argrow also has been a President's Teaching Scholar since 2000. The President's Teaching Scholars are a group of faculty from all three CU campuses chosen not only for skill in their own classrooms, but for their promise of improving education and enlarging its possibilities across the university. Professor Argrow has won teaching awards from the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the Boulder Faculty Assembly, the CU Parents Association, and the W. M. Keck Foundation. He received his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1989 and was an assistant professor there until 1992 when he joined the faculty at the University of Colorado. He served as associate chair of the aerospace engineering sciences department from 2001 to 2004.

Charles Sasaki is Dean of Arts & Sciences at the University of Hawaii - Kapiolani Community College. UH-KCC is Hawaii's largest and most comprehensive two-year college and enrolls one of the nation's most diverse communities of students. As Dean, Sasaki oversees instruction in nine world languages, transfer curricula for university-bound students, coursework to meet general education requirements, and select career programs including biotechnology, computer animation, and interface design. Prior to joining UH-KCC, Sasaki served as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Hawai'i Pacific University. He was previously Associate Dean at Chaminade University, Founding Faculty and Associate Dean at Cascadia Community College, and Chief Diversity Officer in the Seattle Community College District. He began his career as a faculty member teaching American Ethnic Studies and Sociology and earned tenure and his college's Distinguished Teaching Medal for his work in those disciplines. With particular interest in the needs of underserved and disadvantaged student populations, Sasaki has consulted for several institutions on curricular transformation and the assessment of learning outcomes. He consults annually with the United Negro College Fund to advise on the allocation of over 1.6 billion dollars in scholarship support through the Gates Millennium Scholars Program. Sasaki is fortunate to have been awarded two Fulbrights. In 2008, he traveled to Germany to participate in the International Education Administrators Seminar and in 2012, was a member of the five-person Community College Administrators Seminar delegation to Russia. Sasaki has also held grants in Korean Studies and Japanese History from the National Endowment for the Humanities and has participated in international education programs in the United Kingdom (NASPA, 2010) and Japan (Fulbright-Hays, 1998.)

Deborah Nolan

Diana Natalicio

Diana Natalicio was named president of UTEP in 1988. During her long and distinguished career with the University, Dr. Natalicio has served as vice president for academic affairs, dean of liberal arts, chair of the modern languages department and professor of linguistics. Her sustained commitment to provide all residents of the Paso del Norte region access to outstanding higher education opportunities has made UTEP a national success story. Dr. Natalicio serves on the board of trustees of the Rockefeller Foundation and on the board of directors of Trinity Industries, the American Council on Education and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering. She has served on the board of governors of the U.S.-Mexico Foundation for Science, the NASA Advisory Committee (NAC), the boards of the Sandia Corporation and Internet2, and was appointed by President George H.W. Bush as a member of the Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. Initially appointed to the National Science Board by President Bill Clinton in 1994, she served two six-year terms as a Board member and three two-year terms as the NSB's vice chair. In recognition of her success in building strong partnerships between UTEP, the El Paso Community College and school districts in the Paso del Norte region, Dr. Natalicio received the Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education in 1997. She was inducted into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1999, was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award at The University of Texas at Austin in 2006, and is the recipient of honorary doctoral degrees from Smith College and the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon.

Diane Rover

Diane Rover has been a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State since 2001. She recently served as Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in the College of Engineering from 2004-2010. Prior to that, she served as associate chair for undergraduate education in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2003-2004. She began her academic career at Michigan State University, where, from 1991-2001, she held the positions of assistant professor and associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. From 1997 to 2000, she served as director of the undergraduate program in computer engineering at MSU. She also served as interim department chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2000 to 2001. She was a research staff member in the Scalable Computing Laboratory at the Ames Laboratory under a U.S-D.O.E. Postdoctoral Fellowship from 1989 to 1991. Her teaching and research has focused on the areas of embedded computer systems, reconfigurable hardware, integrated program development and performance environments for parallel and distributed systems, visualization, performance monitoring and evaluation, and engineering education. She currently serves as principal investigator for NSF STEP and S-STEM grants in the college. Dr. Rover is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Education Society, and the ASEE. From 2006-2009, she served on the IEEE Committee on Engineering Accreditation Activities (CEAA), and in 2009, was appointed to the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission. Since 2002, she has been an IEEE ABET/EAC Program Evaluator in computer engineering. She served as Senior Associate Editor for the Academic Bookshelf for the ASEE Journal of Engineering Education from 2000-2008. She received an NSF CAREER Award in 1996. Dr. Rover received the B.S. degree in computer science in 1984, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering in 1986 and 1989, respectively, from Iowa State University.

Donna Llewellyn

Donna Crystal Llewellyn received her BA (major in Mathematics and minor in Economics) with High Honors from Swarthmore College in 1980. She went on to earn an MS in Operations Research from Stanford University in 1981 and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Cornell University in 1984. Donna then studied in Bonn, West Germany with a National Science Foundation Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Fellowship while on leave from a tenure track position in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. From 1994 to 1999, Donna served as an Associate Chair of ISyE. In July 1999, Donna became the Director of CETL. Donna's current interests center around education issues in general, and on increasing the participation of women and minorities in engineering and science in particular. She is the past Chair of the Women in Engineering Division of the American Society of Engineering Education, the past President of the Women in OR/MS Forum of INFORMS, and past director-at-large of INFORMS. She is the general chair of the INFORMS 2003 National Conference.

Dr. Amy J. Moll

Dr. Amy J. Moll joined the College of Engineering faculty at Boise State in August, 2000. Dr. Moll received a B.S. degree in Ceramic Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana IL, in 1987. Her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are in Materials Science and Engineering from University of California at Berkeley, received in 1992 and 1994, respectively. Following graduate school, Dr. Moll worked for Hewlett Packard for six years in San Jose, CA, and in Colorado Springs, CO. She was an Adjunct Professor at San Jose State University and has been involved in several conferences and workshops on Materials Science and Engineering education. Dr. Moll was a co-founder of the Materials Science and Engineering department at BSU along with Dr. Bill Knowlton. She served as the first chair of the department from 2004-2008 . The Department of Materials Science and Engineering offers B.S., M.S., and M.Eng degrees as well as a minor for undergraduates. Dr. Moll has experience in R&D and manufacturing of microelectronic materials and packaging. At Boise State, Dr. Moll is conducting research in microelectronic packaging. Her funding includes a project to investigate 3D Technology for Advanced Sensor Systems and the application of low temperature co-fired ceramic materials (LTCC) to micro analytical and micro-mechanical systems. Dr. Moll is also involved in several grants and projects focused on improving STEM education and a variety of levels and informing the public about Material Science and Engineering.

Dr. Ann Q. Gates

Dr. Ann Q. Gates is Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her areas of research are in software engineering and cyberinfrastructure with an emphasis on workflows, ontologies, and formal software specification. Gates directs the NSF-funded Cyber-ShARE Center that focuses on developing and sharing resources through cyber-infrastructure to advance research and education in science. She was a founding member of the NSF Advisory Committee for Cyber-infrastructure. Gates served on the IEEE-Computer Society (IEEE-CS) Board of Governors 2004-2009. In addition, she chairs the IEEE-CS Educational Activity Board's Committee of Diversity and External Activities and has established a model for specialized student chapters focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional development. She is a member of the Computer Science Accreditation Board (2011-2013). Gates leads the Computing Alliance for Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI) and is a founding member of the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT). In 2010, Gates received the Anita Borg Institute Social Impact Award, the 2009 Richard A. Tapia Achievement Award for Scientific Scholarship, Civic Science, and Diversifying Computing and was named to Hispanic Business magazine's 100 Influential Hispanics in 2006 for her work on the Affinity Research Group model.

Dr. Benjamin C. Flores

Dr. Benjamin C. Flores joined the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 1990 after earning his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University. He is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and has held several administrative positions including Associate Dean for Graduate Studies for the College of Engineering, Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, and Interim Chair of the Computer Science Department. Dr. Flores is an expert in retention strategies for undergraduate and graduate students in the STEM disciplines. He has been the Principal Investigator on multiple National Science Foundation grants and cooperative agreements. Currently he is Director of the University of Texas System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and Director of the STEM Talent Expansion Program. He has conducted multiple presentations and seminars in the US, Mexico and South America highlighting the effectiveness and impact of strategies for access to higher education. Dr. Flores is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education, the American Society for the Advancement of Science, and the International Society of Optical Engineering. HE was recently nominated to the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentorship (2008). His honors include the Examples of Excellence in Education Award (2006), the ABET President's Diversity Award (2006), and the THECB Star Award (2005). He also received the IEEE Millennium Medal for outstanding contributions in engineering education, membership to the Electrical Engineering Honor Society (Eta Kappa Nu) and membership to the Engineering Honor Society (Tau Beta Pi). Dr. Flores is counselor of the UTEP Chapter of the Electrical Engineering Honor Society.

Dr. Bonne August has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at New York City College of Technology since September 2006, having served as acting provost since February 2005. Previously, she was chair of the English Department and professor of English at Kingsborough Community College/CUNY, where she had been on the faculty since 1982. As the chief academic officer of the College, she oversees faculty members in 27 academic departments, providing guidance for the curricular and instructional development of City Tech's schools of Arts & Science, Professional Studies, and Technology & Design, as well as the Division of Continuing Education, the Library, College Learning Centers, Instructional Technology, Assessment and Institutional Research, and the Faculty Commons. She is also Principal Investigator for two institutional projects funded by the National Science Foundation, I3 and ADVANCE IT-Catalyst.
