Gary Zentner

Gary Zentner is an investment partner at Allerand Capital. Allerand Capital is a private investment and advisory firm active in direct debt/equity investing, loan advisory and restructuring, and asset underwriting services. Mr. Zentner also established and developed an independent investment, consulting and advisory firm, Avalon National Corporation. Avalon acts as a principal and provides financial consulting to a select group of clients from Canada that seek real estate and corporate investment opportunities in the United States. In addition, Mr. Zentner is an active angel investor, respected by the venture community. He has made several seed capital investments in new emerging technology companies and acted as a board advisor. Mr. Zentner began his career with The Chicago Corporation, where he worked on a variety of public and private corporate finance transactions, including debt offerings, equity offerings, and M&A. In 1996, Mr. Zentner moved from Chicago to New York and became the Managing Director of Deutsche Bank's Strategic Equity Transactions Group. His expertise includes risk management and tax-advantaged equity related investment strategies for high net worth individuals. Mr. Zentner was born in Montreal, Canada. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Kent Griffin

Kent Griffin serves as the Managing Director of PHICAS Investors, providing investment and capital strategy advisory services to public and private companies. Mr. Griffin serves a member of the Board of Directors of TIER REIT (NYSE: TIER) a Dallas-based real estate investment trust which invests in premier commercial office properties in select, high-growth markets. Mr Griffin served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of BioMed Realty Trust (NYSE:BMR), a real estate investment trust exclusively focused on the life science industry. BioMed Realty, with over $7 billion of investments across the United State and the United Kingdom, was acquired by Blackstone in 2016. Mr. Griffin also served on the investment committee and the advisory board for BioMed Ventures, which provides advisory services and structured investments for growth companies in the life science industry - including the drug discovery, drug development, diagnostics, tools and medical device sectors. Previously, Mr. Griffin held a variety of investment banking positions with JPMorgan and Raymond James & Associates. Prior to that, Mr. Griffin was part of the real estate service group for Arthur Andersen LLP, where he was responsible for a range of advisory and audit services as a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Griffin received a MBA from the University of North Carolina and a BS in Business and Accountancy from Wake Forest University.

Steve Perricone - CEO, Founder

Steve Perricone is the founder and Managing Partner of Pilot Mountain Ventures. Mr. Perricone has been an active angel investor since 1999. In 2007, he co-founded Serrano Ventures, a private investment fund, where he remains a partner today. Some representative investments of his include Ladders, Inc., a high end online recruitment service, VietnamWorks, an online/off-line recruitment in Vietnam (acquired), Leblon Cachaca, a Brazilian rum in which he co-invested with Bacardi (acquired), Space Racers, an animated, educational children's series, and several Mario Batali properties. Mr. Perricone has also served as a Managing Director and the Head of the Hedging and Monetization Group within the Equity Derivatives Division of Deutsche Bank. In this capacity he was responsible for advising clients with concentrated equity positions on tax-efficient strategies to hedge and diversify their investment risks. He began his career with Deutsche Bank in 1998 and left the bank at the end of 2010. Mr. Perricone began his career as a technology consultant with Accenture in their Financial Services Group. He was involved in numerous bank mergers, advising clients on the many operational and technology challenges involved. Mr. Perricone holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Wake Forest University.

Tim Flannery

Tim Flannery is a Venture Partner at Pilot Mountain Ventures, having joined the PMV team during its founding. Mr. Flannery focuses on investment opportunities in the technology area. He was previously an Associate at JPMorgan's Chief Investment Office from 2011-2013. Mr. Flannery began his career in 2007 as an investment analyst in JPMorgan's Private Equity Fund Services, focusing on venture capital portfolios for large pension investors. Originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mr. Flannery graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University Maryland with a BBA in Business Management. He is currently pursuing his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

William Hoos

He also advises medical diagnostic, device, pharmaceutical and patient advocate organizations globally on product development and market strategy. His past clients include OncoPlexDx (acquired by NantOmics), Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Skyline Diagnostics BV and Vanda Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Hoos was previously with Philips Home Healthcare Solutions (Respironics) as Director of New Product Commercialization, where he led the Sleep Well Ventures business in bringing key new products to market. Sleep Well Ventures was established by Respironics as an internal venture group responsible for creating a portfolio of medical devices through business development, acquisitions, and equity investments. While there, Mr. Hoos led new product marketing, strategy and implementation, applied research, clinical trial design, regulatory strategy, and manufacturing. Mr. Hoos led the international launch of a novel insomnia therapy device and designed and defended the US regulatory approval strategy including multiple meetings with the FDA. Additionally, he led the successful integration of an acquisition in light therapy devices and on-time design and launch of their next generation award-winning product. Prior to Respironics, Mr. Hoos held various roles in R&D and business development. He has also been a software entrepreneur and founded ClinWiki.org which provides crowd sourced clinical trial information. He serves as an Entrepreneur In Residence at Launch Chapel Hill and on the Board of SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals. Mr. Hoos earned an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds a BS Chemistry from Wake Forest University and MS Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.
