College of Economics and Management （CEM）of Shanghai Ocean University was founded in 1984. The College developed out of the Department of Fishery Economics and Management of Shanghai Fisheries College, founded in 1984. Since then, to meet the social,economic and disciplinary need of fostering qualified personnel, several economics and management related undergraduate programs have been gradually added to the department's portfolio of undergraduate programs. The Department of Fishery Economics and Management was renamed "College of Economics and Trade" in 1997, and in October 2006 it was renamed "College of Economics and Management". Once ShanghaiFisheries University (Shanghai Fisheries College until 1984) was rebranded as "Shanghai Ocean University" in May 2008, the college became the "College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Ocean University"... CEMhas set up an experimental center and three research centers, including the "Strategic Research and Development Center of China..
