Normally a Geothermal drilling/installation company needs to excavate the entire back yard of an average sized home - in order to have enough room to set up the drill rig - as well as digging the trenches for the loop field. Most Geothermal drilling companies employ large drill rigs that are literally the size of dump trucks, and even require large spaced side entrance points - in order to drive the rig into the back yard, tearing up your grass and even driveway in the process. And that's before the rig even drills its first hole.
