SEAL is a London-based organisation which exists as a forum for English and American lawyers to meet and exchange views on professional, business, academic and cultural matters of interest and concern to them. It brings together barristers, solicitors and members of the judiciary. Its aims are pursued at regular social functions held throughout the year and at online and in person talks which SEAL organises on specialised topics of interest to lawyers in jurisdictions on both sides of the Atlantic... SEAL began life in 1981 as the English Branch of The Inns of Court Society in California. The purpose of the Inn was to promote a much closer connection between the oldest and newest of the great Common Law jurisdictions, because ‘misconceptions abounded'.
