Alice A. Belinsky, 90, a resident of Maple Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ebensburg, formerly of Bakerton, passed away August 24, 2023 at Maple Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 3, 1933 in Bakerton, the daughter of Walter S. and Mary (Wicka) Kuskosky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Belinsky, sisters Mary E. Zeanchok, Helen M. Benny, brothers John, Joseph and Stanley Kuskosky, and a brother and sister in infancy. Alice was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by a brother-in-law James Belinsky, sister-in-law Doris Malloy, niece Gail (David) Conrad and numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was employed at the former Barnes's Store in Bakerton for many years. She was a member of St. Benedict Church, Carrolltown and enjoyed baking, decorating and bowling. Bernadine J. Kelly, 88, Carrolltown, passed away August 3, 2023 at Conemaugh Miners Medical Center, Hastings. She was born August 25, 1934 in Spangler, the daughter of John and Mary (Berish) Lubert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Kelly, son, Jeffrey, brothers: John, Jr., Buster, Peter, Herbie; sisters: Rosie Thompson, and Barbara Merkle. She is survived by children: Joanne Gates, Hollidaysburg; James (Annette) Kelly, Carrolltown; Jeanette Kline, Carrolltown; John (Cathy) Kelly, Ohio; Jason Kelly, Carrolltown; grandchildren: Jenna (Arjun) Jeganathan, Cierra Kline, Ashley (Matt) Bender, Jade Kline and friend Charlie Bradley, Brad (Sherry) Kelly, Melissa (James) Kane, John M. (Bailey) Kelly, Jr.; great grandchildren: Amelia G. Connie M. Stumpf, 86, Elmora passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 9, 1936 in Hastings, the daughter of Ira and Agnes (Neibauer) Mothersbaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Stumpf, son Kenneth Stumpf, Jr.; sisters Delores Wood, Joanne Bassett, Beverly McCune; brothers William Mothersbaugh and Robert Mothersbaugh. She was born March 22, 1948 in Colver, the daughter of Norbert and Caroline Ruth (Lieb) Kirsch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David L. Buck, sisters Grace Harvey and Anne Bernard. She is survived by children: Jackie (Brandon) Holtz, Patton; Janice Merlina, Economy; Janine (Keith) Hoover, Cresson; grandchildren: Allison, Nicole, Austin, Trent, Rebecca, Karson, James and Luke; brother and sisters Jane Andrukanis, Camilla (Dave) Gomish, Sonny (Cindy Buck) Kirsch, Sue (Paul) Dillon, Christine Kirsch and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Eric A. Bender, 43, Carrolltown, passed away June 19, 2023. He was born April 18, 1980 in Altoona, the son of Larry and Betty Ann (Glinsky) Bender. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John M. and Nellie M. Glinsky; paternal grandparents, William F. and Rita H. Bender; Aunt, Maureen Hartle; Uncle, Joel Colberg and Cousin, Jeff Cramer. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Mark Bender and fiancé Lindsay Brescia, Elmora; nephew, Mason Bender and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was a 1998 graduate of Cambria Heights High School and was currently employed in Health Services. He was a member of Cambrian Hills Golf Course, Hastings. Eric enjoyed shooting sports, golfing and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Helen (Washinsky) Farabaugh, 94, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Bakerton, passed away on October 1, 2023 at Garvey Manor. She was born July 18, 1929, in Bakerton, daughter of Matthew and Pazia (Stecko) Washinsky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Patrick J. "Esso" Farabaugh, sister Mary (Peter) Jovanis, brother Paul (Rose) Washinsky, and brother Nick Washinsky. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law Joe (Anna) Farabaugh, and sister-in-law Eileen (Bud) Link and Emma (Paul) Venesky. She is survived by her loving children Maria (Randy) Choby, Patton; Patty (Mike) Marine, Altoona; granddaughters: Erica (Kevin Soles) Jackson, Pittsburgh; Erin Choby, Patton; great-grandchildren: Avery & Reed Jackson and Zori & Alina Soles; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former employee of the Bakerton Supply Company Store and helped manage her husband's business, Pat's Exxon Station, for over 45 years. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church, Bakerton, and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown. She was also a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #8897. Dowey, sisters, Zita Orlasky, Mary King, Helen Rescinito, Bernadine O'Conner, Kathleen Hudson, Irene Evans; brothers: Lawrence, Paul, Walter and Edward Walsh and grandchild, Lynn Ann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Westrick. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Alfred M. Lieb, Jr., whom she married August 14, 1965; children: Jeffrey (Sheila) Lieb, Centre Hall; Craig (Lisa) Lieb, Hastings; Kimberly (Gina Steadman) Lieb, Evergreen, CO; grandchildren: Rachel, Mason, Joshua Lieb, Nathan (Romina), Zachary, Bradley Lieb, Layne, Quinn Lieb; sisters: Janell Holtz, Linda (Lew) Nevins, Mary Jane (Rick) Terza, Jean Westrick and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College. She taught school in York, Pa for a short time, then spent her life as a loving wife, mother and Nana. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, playing cards with family and friends and making apple pies. She is survived by her loving children: Miriam "Mimi" F. Bradley, Hastings; Joseph F. (Paula) Maurer, Nicktown; Ann M. (Blane) Link, Patton; James A. Thomas C. Hoover, 82, Carrolltown, passed away August 8, 2023 at home. He was born September 4, 1940 in Patton, the son of E. Paul and Agnes (Smithbower) Hoover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene C. (Weber) Hoover, brothers, Eugene in infancy, Richard, Albert and James. Wayne C. Durbin, Sr., 88, Ebensburg, passed away May 20, 2023 at home. He was born March 24, 1935 in Cresson, the son of Ray and Leona (Griffin) Durbin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray, Roy, Dean and Bill. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Lotito) Durbin, whom he married October 29, 1951; children, Wayne (Judy) Durbin, Jr.; Beverly (Ed) Stasic; Robert (Mary Ann) Durbin; Barbara (Jim) Fagan; Nancy (Jim) Westrick; Sue (John) West; Ray Durbin; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Betty Barnes and numerous nieces and nephews. He retired as a coalminer from Barnes and Tucker. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown. Wayne was a devoted Catholic, a hard-working husband, father and grandfather who was proud of his family. He always would greet you with a smile and his joke of the day. Wayne loved being outdoors both hunting and fishing. His talent of being crafty allowed him to be able to fix or make anything. Pap Durbin was a true storyteller who captured everyone's heart with his many stories of his 88 years that were full of adventures. At Wayne's request, there will be no viewing.
