Shannon Dickinson

Job Titles:
  • Librarian
Shannon is a lifelong Pacific Northwesterner born and raised in Astoria, Oregon (ask her where to get the best fish and chips in town). She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington. She has been a school librarian for nearly twenty years, focusing primarily on middle and high school until she arrived at Tucker Maxon in 2019, ready for a new challenge. She will tell anyone who asks (and some who don't) that being the Tucker Maxon librarian might just be the best job on the planet! Shannon believes that everyone should be able to see themselves in books and is dedicated to building the most inclusive library collection possible. When she's not reading to students, quizzing third-graders about the best graphic novels, wrangling popcorn at movie night, or admiring the baby salmon and chicken eggs that sometimes live in the library, Shannon can usually be found reading, singing, working on the NYT's Spelling Bee, feeding the goats, or eating burritos with her daughter (a Tucker Maxon student) and husband (a stalwart Tucker Maxon volunteer).
