Eric currently manages the real estate and mortgage finance practice of Weitz & Schwartz, P.A., with a focus on compliance with all State of Florida and federal lending regulations. Under Eric's guidance Weitz & Schwartz, P.A., in its role as a settlement and title agent, has successfully closed thousands of mortgage finance transactions, and has resolved innumerable title issues and claims on behalf of its clients. Weitz & Schwartz, P.A. is currently an agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. In addition to his current role, Eric has been at the forefront of the development of the firm's boutique plaintiff foreclosure practice.
Jeffrey Weitz founded Jeffrey L. Weitz P.A. in 1976. In 1978, Jeffrey L. Weitz P.A. became Weitz & Schwartz, P.A. when Eric Schwartz joined the Firm. Prior to his retirement in 2018, Mr. Weitz represented buyers, sellers and mortgage lenders in the South Florida community. Over his forty plus years as a partner with the Firm, Mr. Weitz was instrumental in building Weitz & Schwartz, P.A into a successful boutique real estate firm.
Steven is an AV-rated attorney focusing his practice on advising lenders, mortgage servicers and investors in consumer finance litigation, title litigation and other real estate-related matters. Steven represents clients in matters related to federal and state consumer protection statutes, such as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and the Florida Consumer Collections Practices Act. He also represents both Plaintiffs and Defendants in title litigation and contract disputes.
Steven is actively involved with the United Way of Broward County. Steven was also a member of the 2017 Broward County March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction Committee.
