The Community Association for Psychosocial Services (CAPS) is an organization providing quality, holistic psychosocial care at the individual, group, and community levels. Formed in 2005, CAPS was borne out of the vision and desire by the local staffs that were employed and trained by the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT), an International NGO that specializes in psychological treatment of torture survivors... CAPS is the only local organization that provides psychosocial and physical interventions for torture and trauma survivors. With our emphasis on holistic and comprehensive psychosocial care, and commitment to serve humanity with confidentiality and compassion, we have changed the way society thinks about torture and trauma survivors, and we have generated knowledge to the benefit of our clients and society... Our target beneficiaries are survivors of torture and organized violence and severely traumatized people in post-war Sierra Leone, including amputees. CAPS also works..
