Ashlie went to Hagerstown Community College where she earned her dental assisting certificate. She started in the office as a front desk receptionist in April of 2015 and became Dr. Nussear's full time dental assistant. She likes interacting with patients and seeing them happy. In her spare time Ashlie enjoys baking, shopping, and spending time with her husband, Ashton and their two sons Kaeson and Brodie.
We are thrilled to have Casey have join our staff as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She received her Associates' Degree in Applied Science from Allegheny Community College. Casey has worked in the dental field for over 11 years. She is experienced in many aspects of the dental office which included general, orthodontic and pediatric dentistry. The first four years of her career were spent working as Dr. Nussears' dental assistant. Casey stays at the front of advancements in dental hygiene to provide the best quality dental care available to all her patients.
Casey and her husband TJ are parents to their two daughters Atlee & Rowan and their English bulldog "Blitz"!
Delaney graduated from Hagerstown Community College with an Associates Degree. Delaney is eager to learn all facets of the dental field. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking, sporting events and attending concerts. Delaney has a Pit Bull companion named Phoenix!
Dr. Tom Nussear was born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland. He graduated from Smithsburg High School where he excelled on the football field and helped his team bring home the 1989 State Championship Title. After high school he moved onto University of Maryland, College Park where he obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry. In addition to his studies, he devoted an abundance of time cheering on the Terps. After his time in College Park he moved to downtown Baltimore to pursue a degree in dentistry from University of Maryland Dental School. During his time there he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann. Baltimore provided the perfect backdrop for Dr. Nussear's love of sports. Viewing both stadiums from his apartment was just one of the perks of living in Baltimore. After graduating from dental school in 1999, Tom and Mary Ann moved back to their hometown. After a few years of practicing as an associate in the Hagerstown and Waynesboro areas Dr. Nussear took a leap of faith and returned to his roots to open his own practice in downtown Smithsburg, Maryland. The hometown feel that Dr. Nussear's office provides to patients is unsurpassed. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Nussear also works part time at Walnut Street Clinic so that he can maintain an active role in Community Health. While not at the office, Dr. Nussear enjoys golfing, doing yard work, being a sports fan, and spending time with his wife and three boys Cole, Will, and Jake.
Karen graduated from Allegheny College of Maryland where she earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She has over 30 years experience in private practice with a background in general dentistry. She and her husband Mike have been married over 25 years and have two boys Josh and Jake and Chocolate Labrador named Hunter. In her free time Karen enjoys taking walks, going to sporting events, the beach and Raystown Lake with her family.
Sharon has been in the dental field for 20 years and has enjoyed the past 14 years with Dr. Nussear. Sharon's warm, welcoming smile and friendly demeanor make her the perfect team leader and patient liaison. She and her husband Chris have two sons Ben and Matt. The family enjoys spending their summers at the PF&G Club and attending Penn State and Lebanon Valley College Football games!
