In March of 1995 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Subsequently, I was treated with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. The experience I gained by becoming a receiver rather than a provider of health care was invaluable and - perhaps surprisingly - I count it as a positive experience in that it has provided me with insights into both the clinical, practical and - most importantly - the emotional and psychological issues that confront a cancer patient.
