BIOMICOM

The BiOMICom mission is based on the development of analytical platforms to characterize chemical communication between life units extending from cell and tissue to ecosystem level interactions. Chemical signaling is one of the most important areas of Systems Biology research, and also one of the least understood. Our work inherently involves the study of living systems and their chemical response to biotic and abiotic stresses. Cultured environments allow for unique control of the micro-environment. Using these refined methods we are making important contributions to natural product chemistry, mechanistic understanding of various disease states, and the generation of a novel set of drug candidates.
