Dr. Alisha Adatia

Dr. Adatia graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2001. As part of the program, she completed an ocular disease externship with Houston Eye Associates in Houston, TX. After graduating, Dr. Adatia went on to complete a residency in Low Vision and Geriatric Optometry at the Centre for Sight Enhancement at the University of Waterloo. Born and raised in Calgary, AB, Dr. Adatia returned in 2002 to work in private practice in various clinics around the city. After gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience she started Blink Eyewear in 2008. Always greeting you with a smile, Dr. Adatia ensures an exceptional eye care experience for all her patients. Dr. Adatia is a member of the Calgary Society of Optometrists, the Alberta Association of Optometrists, and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Alisha Dhanji

Dr. Alisha Dhanji was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She completed a Bachelor of Biological science with a minor in Psychology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry in Boston at the New England College of Optometry. As part of her program she learned how to fit specialty lenses for diseased corneas at a private clinic in Derry, New Hampshire, and gained experience in treatment and management of ocular disease at the Bedford Veterans hospital in Massachusetts. Dr. Dhanji has had various externships where she has gained the experience of treating patients of all ages and backgrounds in community health centers and private practices. While in Optometry school, Dr. Dhanji was part of VOSH (Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity), and in 2018 traveled to the Dominican Republic with a group of her peers to provide eye exams in rural areas with minimal access to healthcare. This was one of Dr. Dhanji's favorite memories and she hopes to engage in other programs in Canada and overseas that provide eyecare to patients who do not have access to it. Dr. Dhanji's favourite part of the job is the coming together of healthcare and fashion! Additionally, she loves the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life and educating patients and families about all aspects of eye health.

Dr. Harpreet Minhas

Dr. Jenny Tran

Dr. Jenny Tran was born and raised in Calgary. In high school, she worked as an optometric assistant and was able to find her passion for optometry early when she realized the importance of eye health and the impact it makes on someone's life. Dr. Tran earned her degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary and then pursued her doctorate at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. As part of her program, she received training in a number of clinical settings in the USA that specialized in ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy. Following graduation, Dr. Tran practiced in Rochester, New York and Oil City, Pennsylvania. After more than a decade of being away, she is excited to return to Calgary to serve the community and to provide quality eye care to her patients.

Dr. Mariam Alkawally

Dr. Alkawally is a fellow at the American Academy of Optometry, and is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Pascal Gagné

Dr. Gagné received his Bachelor of Science Degree with Distinction from the University of Calgary. He went on to study Optometry at the University of Waterloo, where he graduated with Honours. As part of his training, he completed an ocular disease externship at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Dr. Gagné enjoys interacting with his patients and answering any questions they have about their vision and eye health. He has a clinical interest in dry eye and ocular disease management. He is bilingual, offering eye examinations in both English and French. Dr. Gagné is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. In his spare time, Dr. Gagné enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Dr. Samantha Lai

Dr. Lai graduated from the University of Waterloo with Honours in 2011. Prior to joining Blink Eyewear in 2011, she completed training with Image Optometry in Burnaby and Abbotsford, BC; OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, MD; Saton Optiek in the Netherlands; and the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Dr. Lai has completed additional training in specialty soft contact lenses including high astigmatism, children, monovision, and multifocal contact lenses at the Vision Care Institute in Jacksonville, FL. In 2013, Dr. Lai went on an eye care mission in Bueng Kan, Thailand. She is great with young children and first eye exams. When she isn't working, Dr. Lai enjoys spending time outdoors, skating, binge-watching Netflix, and most importantly, spending time with her husband and young daughter. She is a member of the Calgary Society of Optometrists, the Alberta Association of Optometrists, and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
