CAPTAIN FOLA C. AKINKUOTU

Capt. Fola Akinkuotu is the Managing Director/ Chief Executive of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA). Born in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria in 1951, he attended St. Mathew's Primary School, Ondo and Children Homes School, Molete, Ibadan. His quest for further education saw him at St. Joseph Secondary School, Ondo and International School, Ibadan where he did his "A" Levels in flying colours. Thereafter, he proceeded to the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, (NCAT) Zaria, where he obtained Aircraft Engineer Maintenance License (A & C). The young Akinkuotu later secured admission into the Sierra Academy of Aeronautics, Oakland, USA where he obtained a Commercial Pilot License, Multi-Engine Rating, Instrument Rating and Flight Engineer's (Turbojet Boeing 727) License. He also has an Air Transport Pilot License from Sunnyside Aviation Academy, New York, USA, a Certificate in Total Quality Management from Lagos Business School, Lagos, Nigeria and a Type Rating Instructor B737 from Oxford Aviation Academy, United Kingdom. Highly motivated, competent, and versatile in the area of flight operations management, Capt. Akinkuotu who is also an aircraft maintenance engineer has traversed the nooks and crannies of the industry with an intimidating résumé to show for his effort. A renowned and well-grounded pilot and aircraft engineer as well as air worthiness expert, Capt. Akinkuotu's vast experience and expertise in the industry spans over 40 years with more than 13,000 hours jet time. In 1998, he was entrusted with the honour of flying Pope John Paul II in Nigeria during his pastoral visit to the country. Akinkuotu was CEO of Aero Contractors Airlines between February, 2016 and January 2017 when he was appointed MD/CE of NAMA. He was confirmed by the Nigerian Senate as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in July 2013. He also had a stint between January, 2012 to June 2013 as Rector, International Aviation College, Ilorin. Other positions he held include: commercial pilot, Kabo Airlines (1986-1991), Chief Pilot/Director, Technical Operations, ADC Airlines, (1991-2001), Managing Director/Chief Operation Officer, IRS Airlines (2001-2002) Director of Flight Operations, Virgin Nigeria Airways (2010-2011) among others. He had in the past served as the engineer in charge of the presidential fleet. He was formerly a designated aviation examiner for the FCAA and was also responsible for the development and updating of Simulator Training materials for flight training on flight upsets and unusual attitudes in commercial airplanes. From January 2005 to June 2006, He worked as the Managing Consultant at Quintessence Aviation Limited, a private consulting company where he was also a partner, and which was responsible for designing solutions for the aviation industry. He is happily married with three children.

Dr. Maisallau Ibn Musa

The Director, Human Resources/Administration, Dr. Maisallau Ibn Musa, is a seasoned and professional Administrator. Born in Lafia, Nassarawa State in the 1960s. He had his formative education in Lafia and Keffi. He proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University for his first and second degrees and further obtained a Ph.D in Public Administration from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Dr. Musa has many years of experience under his belt both at the Nigerian Prisons Service and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency. He has served in several capacities in the Agency. He was Acting General Manager, Human Resources in 2012 before he was made the Airspace Manager, Akure Airport in Ondo State. He was subsequently redeployed as General Manager, Planning Research and Statistics (PRS) in 2014 and served in that capacity for many years. In his capacity as General Manager, PRS, headed the Agency's Budget Committee as the Chairman. In view of his expertise in administration especially in the Human Resources Management field, he was redeployed as the General Manager, Human Resources (NAMA) in September 2017. On 7 th January, 2022, he was appointed the Director, Human Resources/Administration. Dr. Maisallau Ibn Musa is very versatile in the Human Capacity Development field. Trained both locally and internationally on several Human Resources related fronts, he contributed to the establishment of various bodies. Among these corporate entities is the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Aviation Chapter. He has academic publications and has earned numerous personal Awards to his credit.

Mr. Hamzat M Balogun - CFO

Mr. Hamzat Mustapha Balogun is the Director, Finance, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).He is a finance expert with vast experience in Public and Private sector accounts, Banking and Finance. He has over three decades of working experience which initially started with the Federal Ministry of Finance before expanding his expertise in the financial sector by joining commercial and merchant banks as well as a trading company before he joined the services of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) where he rose to the level of Director of Finance. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as well as Fellowships of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and National Institute of Management (NIM). He has attended several international and local courses, seminars and conferences. Before his appointment as the Director, Finance, NAMA, Mr. Hamzat M Balogun, was the Chairman of a private investment firm, Baymoon Investments Ltd. He has also served as a Director of Kwara State Government owned Holding company, Harmony Holdings. A company with several subsidiaries. He held chairmanship of Kwara Football Academy as well as Harmony Investment and Property Development company in the past. Mr Balogun is happily married with children.

PWAJOK MATHEW LAWRENCE - COO

The Director of Operations (Mr. Pwajok Matthew Lawrence) hails from Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, and was born on Christmas Day 25th of December 1968. He obtained his first degree from the University of Jos were he graduated with a B.Sc. Hons in Accountancy, and then he obtained his Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Calabar in 2000.
