Dr. Brent Gear

Dr. Brent Gear has his own General Practice in the CHS office in Phoenix, Arizona. He focuses on health. He expects his Weight Loss Clinic - Doctors Diet Program - to help people lose weight and feel better. Weight loss can also improve their blood pressure, diabetes, knee pain, and overall quality of life! He has a subspecialty interest in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) which he frequently uses when treating patients in the Emergency Room. His extensive knowledge and experience with skeletal dysfunction is put to good use in his Accident and Injury Medicine practice. He evaluates and treats people injured in accidents and accepts lawyer liens. He will even testify in court as to his findings. Dr. Gear received his Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona. He received his Osteopathic Medical Degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Des Moines, Iowa. He did a rotating internship, then completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Provident Cook County Hospital, in Chicago, Illinois. He became Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine in 2004. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians as well as the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. Dr. Gear was an Associate Clinical Investigator for Anascorp (Scorpion Antivenom) with the VIPER Institute. He has been an Adjunct Clinical Professor for Midwestern University, Clinical Preceptor for the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Adjunct Assistant Professor for A.T. Still University, and a speaker for the ACOEP Spring Seminars. Dr. Gear is an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. An Eagle Scout himself, he believes everyone should live by the Scout Law. His four sons agree and are all on the Trail to Eagle themselves! Dr. Gear volunteers heavily in Scouting and has been the Cubmaster of his sons' Pack, a Wood Badge Senior Patrol Leader, a Trainer's EDGE Instructor, Pack Trainer, and Co-Chair of several committees. The Sandwich Principle says you must have Discipline and Qualified Supervision because boys who are having fun are not always watching out for themselves. A veteran of the United States Army, the Iowa Army National Guard, and the Arizona Army National Guard, Dr. Gear was deployed for the Iraq war in 2003. With over a dozen medals, former Major Gear left the Army to raise his growing family.

Dr. Robert Gear Jr.

Dr. Robert Gear Jr. is the Medical Director of Comprehensive Health Services. He maintains an integrative medicine practice, in Phoenix Arizona. He received board certification in Family Medicine and Minor Surgery by the Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board. He is past president of the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association, and served as a Clinical Professor for the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, in Phoenix, Arizona Dr. Gear completed his premedical studies at Phoenix College. He received a degree in chiropractic medicine from the National College of Chiropractic, in Chicago Illinois. Dr. Gear received his Naturopathic Medical Degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, in Portland Oregon, in 1979. Dr. Gear's subspecialty interests are "manipulative surgery", and the treatment of hemorrhoids using painless non-surgical techniques. Dr. Robert Gear III is away from our practice at this time. He has been deployed by the Army on 4 tours in Iraq and one tour in Afganistan. He has returned from the war zone and is currently serving in the States. His experience in war-zone medicine will be a great asset to the practice. Prior to deployment, Dr. Gear had a Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine practice in Phoenix, Arizona. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is trained in classic OMT as well as craniosacral manipulation. An avid pilot, Dr. Gear is a specialist in Aerospace Medicine and serves as a flight surgeon for the Arizona Army National Guard. Dr. Gear has worked as an emergency physician at various hospitals. Dr. Gear received his Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona. He received his Osteopathic Medical Degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York. He completed a three year internship and residency in Family Practice at Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, New York on Long Island.

Rick A. Shacket

Dr. Rick Shacket maintains a Family Practice, Colonoscopy and Anorectal Surgery (Colorectal) specialty practice in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a board certified specialist, certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Proctology; the American Board of Laser Surgery; and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Shacket is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Dr. Shacket received a Bachelors Degree from Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan. He received his Medical Degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, in Pomona, California. He received postdoctoral training in homeopathic medicine from the American Medical College of Homeopathy, in Phoenix, Arizona. He is dually licensed by the State of Arizona as a Doctor of Medicine (Homeopathic), and as an Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon. Dr. Shacket is a national lecturer on the subject of proctology and family medicine. He is the author of most of the text found on this web site.
