Caleb has been working for the University of Alabama since 2008. Before becoming a Fire Alarm technician, he worked in maintenance and inspection of fire extinguishers, where he is certified by Getz in several fields.

Christy has been the Assistant Director at EHS since 2019. She received her Bachelor's degree from UA in 1997. She started working in the department while she was a sophomore and has extensive knowledge and experience in fire and general safety. Christy is a member of the National Safety Council and the National Fire Protection Association.

Cory's career began at EHS in December of 2016. Where he started as a Fire Alarm systems Monitor. He is responsible for maintaining records from the fire alarm system.

Donell started work as a Hazardous Materials Technician at EHS in 2014. Prior to starting at the UA he had 3 years of abatement experience. Donell also carries the designation of Asbestos Abatement Supervisor, which allows him to oversee special projects.

Gene started at EHS in 2019 as the Assistant Director Fire and Life Safety. Prior to being at UA, Gene retired from Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue as Fire Marshal with 29 years of service. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from UA in 1984. Gene is a member of International Code Council and National Fire Protection Association.
Jason has been working for the University of Alabama since 2017. He has experience with lightning protection, electrical safety, and fire alarm.

Jay started as an Environmental Safety Assistant in 2013. He worked with UA's Department of Security Resources for four years previous to working at EHS. Before joining the university, he worked in construction as a welder and a pipe fitter.

Jennifer has been a fire alarm technician since 2007, although she has been with the university since 2005. She is a member of our fire alarm inspection team and is responsible for campus fire alarm systems. She has extensive knowledge of fire alarm testing and is a recipient of a NICET certification.

Joey joined the EHS department in 2013. He works as Hazardous Materials Technician and deals with asbestos and lead abatement on the entire campus. He has extensive experience with computers and software operations including website construction. He carries the designations of Asbestos Abatement Supervisor and Lead Abatement Supervisor.
John began with the university facilities electrical department in 2009 before coming to the Environmental Health and Safety Department in 2019. He has more than 20 years of experience in the electrical trade.

Justen began joined the university in October of 2020. He came to UA after more than 20 years as an electrician, much of that time he spent installing fire alarm equipment, including multiple systems for UA buildings.

Justin started with EHS in October 2014. He initially was responsible for recharging/testing fire extinguishers, inspecting AEDs, and inspections of buildings. Currently he is charged with managing the Chemical Storage Facility (CSF) and picking up waste chemicals for laboratories on campus. Justin also does pick ups of biological and radioactive waste.

Keon has been a member of UA's staff since 1999 and has worked in our department since 2010. She works on the Operations side of our department as a coordinator and deals with safety inspections in Greek housing and other areas of campus. Previous to joining our staff, Keon worked with the animal care facility on campus for 11 years and has over 20 years of experience in animal husbandry.

Kristy started in 2013 as a member of our staff and a member of our building inspection team. She assists in fire safety and housing inspections. She worked in the Tuscaloosa County School System for over 10 years and also currently works as a freelance photographer.

Larry has worked as a fire alarm technician since 2001 and is currently the Interim Fire Safety Manager. He graduated from Shelton State with a degree in Industrial Electricity and worked as an electrician for 14 years before joining our staff.

Margaret began her employment at UA in 2014 at the Supe Store and joined EHS in 2015. She is part of the building inspection team.

Mitch has been with the university and the EHS department since 2009. Previously, he worked at Mercedes-Benz for 13 years. Mitch also has an Associate degree in emergency medicine and served as a paramedic in Tuscaloosa County. He currently serves as a lab technician and has extensive training and certification in ASHRAE 110 and NSF 49 standards for laboratory ventilation.

Ross has worked with the university since 2008 and with the Environmental Health and Safety Department since 2013. He is a certified Lightning Protection Institute Master installer.

Stephanie's career began at EHS in October of 2014. Where she started as an ESA, She is now a Fire Alarm System Monitor. She previously was employed by Parking Services. Her husband also works at UA.
