Julie has been practising law for over 30 years and has practised exclusively in family law for 20 years. She is an accredited mediator and has acted as an Independent Children's Lawyer for over 15 years. Prior to joining Hamish Cumming Family Lawyers, Julie worked as a senior solicitor at Legal Aid NSW where she was responsible for supervising junior lawyers and providing practical and specified legal advice to clients in complex situations. Before joining Legal Aid NSW Julie worked in private practice in Newcastle. Julie has been an accredited specialist in family law since 2005. As an accredited specialist Julie undertakes significant additional professional development each year within the area of family law. Kate joined Hamish Cumming Family Lawyers in 2009. Prior to this, Kate was the Young Lawyer's Representative of the Northern Territory Law Society and a councillor of the Northern Territory Law Council. She was on the board and volunteered for the Top End Women's Legal Service in the Northern Territory. She has also volunteered for the Inner City Legal Centre in Sydney.
