Dr Harindra Herath

Dr Harindra Herath is a Hobart local who returned to Tasmania after completing her dental degree in Cairns, Queensland. She has a wide range of clinical experience providing a broad scope of general dental treatment in the private sector, major public dental clinics, and the special care dental unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Her special interests include treating patients with complex medical conditions and anxiety. Dr Herath is passionate about working alongside her patients to improve their oral health and providing necessary tools to do so. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, trying local foods, and watching re-runs of the tv show Friends.

Dr Mark Petersen

Dr Mark Petersen completed his training at James Cook University in Cairns in far north Queensland and moved to Tasmania in 2015. Since then, he's been working in both private and public dental clinics before joining us at Hopkins Dental in 2018. Dr Petersen is passionate about patient care and wellbeing. He aims to build professional relationships with his patients, allowing them to feel comfortable and confident in the treatment provided. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry but particularly providing implant surgery. Dr Petersen welcomes new patients of all ages to visit him. When Dr Petersen is not at work he enjoys working at home on his farm and spending time with his young family travelling around Tasmania in his caravan.

Dr Matthew Kluck

Dr Matthew Kluck joined Hopkins Dental in 2015 after moving to Tasmania to get away from the heat and enjoy all that Tasmania has to offer. After graduating from Griffith and Charles Sturt Universities with degrees in Dental Surgery and Biomedical Science, he then worked at a practice in Sorell for 5 years before making the move to Hopkins Dental. Dr Kluck provides a caring, patient-centred approach in all areas of general dentistry. His patients appreciate his gentle and informative manner. He strives for a well-rounded approach to his planning and treatment for his patients. Dr Kluck has a special interest in Invisalign orthodontic treatment for late teens and adults. He continues to study to improve his orthodontic scope of practice. He aims to get realistic orthodontic outcomes for patients in a timely manner. Dr Kluck finds that improving a patient's smile is the most rewarding part of his job. Building a life in Tasmania, Dr Kluck loves being in the outdoors with his wife and his young children. You will most likely hear him talk relentlessly about them, or his desire to become a backyard beekeeper.

Dr Ruchika Garg

Dr Ruchika Garg joined the team at Hopkins Dental in June 2015. Dr Garg completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and her Australian Dental Certificate in 2005. Dr Garg has worked in public health and the private sector in Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart, whilst still continuing her love of teaching. She has completed her MRACD - Membership of Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons. Dr Garg enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Her special interests include cosmetic dentistry, children's dentistry, and special needs. Complex dentistry such as dental implants also interest Dr Garg and a newfound love of All on 4 restorations. Dr Garg has extensive experience in treating patients with needle phobia and dental anxiety. Dr Garg is married with a young family and when she can, she enjoys walking and cooking.

Dr Tasha Dodd

Dr Tasha Dodd has been enjoying the beautiful state of Tasmania since 1995. After graduating from Auckland and Otago Universities in New Zealand with bachelor's degrees in Science and Dental Surgery, she joined Hopkins Dental Surgery in 2003, following on from her time in Kingston and Burnie. In 2007, she became a joint principle of the practice with Dr Newman and in 2016 welcomed Dr Ruchika Garg as a partner upon Dr Newman's retirement. Together Dr's Dodd and Garg focus their attention on maintaining the surgeries excellent reputation whilst implementing technological advances, with an aim to providing the best possible care and options for their patients. During this time, she has raised two children of whom she is very proud and enjoys being part of their growth and development as young adults. Dr Dodd likes to create a relaxed environment for her patients and is committed to ensuring that they and their extended families experience lifelong dental health. Her main interests in the field of dentistry are helping the anxious patient to become confident during their visits, restoring and rehabilitating mouths that have not been so fortunate and creating a safe, happy environment for a child's first visit.

Dr Tyson Lloyd

Dr Tyson Lloyd graduated with Honours from the University of Western Australia. During his degree, he received multiple awards including: Dr Zac Chami Memorial Prize Harold Baggett Memorial Prize in Histology Australian Society Periodontology Prize D.J. Cock Prize in Periodontics Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry Prize After graduation, he initially practiced dentistry in the southwest region of Western Australia. His love for bush walking and nature inspired a move to beautiful Tasmania, where he now lives happily with his partner and dog. Dr Lloyd is passionate about providing high quality dental care to his patients. He has a particular interest in Periodontics (gum problems), Endodontics (root canal treatment) and Preventative Dentistry (avoiding future dental problems!). He has completed a comprehensive program on the treatment of snoring, sleep apnoea and bruxism (grinding and clenching teeth) and enjoys helping manage these issues with a holistic treatment approach. He also has further training on the management of worn teeth and veneer placement. He enjoys building positive relationships with his patients and is comfortable seeing patients of all ages. With his calm and caring nature, he will happily take the time to listen to and address your concerns and enjoys working with those with dental anxiety to help make their dental visits easier and more relaxing.
