In the early 80's, as a young girl, I attended a birthday party where we all learned to decorate our own small cake. Despite the limited materials we had at the time, I was completely hooked! I started making holiday cakes for family get-togethers and taught myself how to make buttercream flowers with supplies from the local crafts store.
