Jay B. Feldman

Jay leads the firm's litigation and bankruptcy practice groups. In 2001, Jay received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University, graduating with High Honors and in the top 2% of his class. While at Rutgers, he was a member of the Rutgers Honors Program and Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science National Honor Society. He was also a Dean's Scholar. In 2005, Jay received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. After graduating law school, Jay served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ronald B. Graves (retired) in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Jay began his career practicing complex litigation at the international law firm Patton Boggs, LLP (now Squire Patton Boggs) and later joined regional and central New Jersey law firms where he handled litigation and bankruptcy matters in New Jersey and New York at both the trial and appellate levels. Jay devotes his practice to the areas of business litigation, partner/shareholder/LLC member disputes, estate and trust litigation (including will contests), breach of contract cases, real estate and land use disputes, consumer fraud cases, construction litigation, foreclosures, and bankruptcy (including adversary proceedings and other bankruptcy litigation). Jay has represented a variety of clients in litigation, including individuals, municipalities, businesses, financial institutions, trucking companies, car dealerships, restaurants, estates, executors, administrators, trustees, receivers, real estate investors, landlords, condominium associations, homeowners associations, attorneys, physicians, dentists, accounting firms, engineering firms, and contractors. Jay's bankruptcy clients have included debtors, creditors, trustees, purchasers of distressed assets, and creditors' committees. Jay has had the privilege of serving the legal profession and his local community. He was appointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court's District III-B (Burlington County) Fee Arbitration Committee, serving as the Chair in his final year. He was elected as a Trustee of the Burlington County Bar Foundation and was also selected to serve as a Trustee of the Mercer County Bar Foundation. Jay is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Burlington County Bar Association, Mercer County Bar Association, and Historical Society of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Jay previously served on the Mansfield Township Zoning Board and the Superior Court of New Jersey Juvenile Conference Committee. Jay also instructs other attorneys on legal issues for the National Business Institute and other continuing legal education providers. Jay is honored to have been selected to the 2015 and 2016 Super Lawyers Rising Stars lists. The Super Lawyers Rising Stars list is issued by Thomson Reuters.

Jennifer A. Leighton

Jennifer attended Georgetown University Law Center (J.D. '02) and Rutgers University (B.A. '99). Upon graduation from law school, Jennifer joined the Newark, NJ firm of Robertson, Freilich, Bruno & Cohen, a premier litigation boutique founded by a former U.S. Attorney and the nation's top insurance, environmental, and trial attorneys. She worked on complex commercial litigation cases representing public and private companies, their officers and directors in multi-million dollar cases before the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York. Jennifer also practiced before the bankruptcy courts representing a trustee and creditors in various matters. In July 2010, Jennifer founded her solo practice. Relying upon her roots in litigation, Jennifer represented businesses and individuals needing an advocate both in and out of court. Jennifer quickly expanded her practice to assist businesses with contracts, entity formation, asset sales/purchases, and commercial transactions, and to help individuals with estate planning/administration, real estate transactions, and contract review. In September 2017, Jennifer was appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to serve a three-year term on the District III-B (Burlington County) Fee Arbitration Committee. She is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Burlington County Bar Association. Jennifer proudly works with her community on various endeavors, including volunteering with the Columbus Home & School Association, organizing parental rights seminars with the Mansfield Township Special Education Parents Advisory Group, and grant-writing and financial planning for the St. Peter's Freehold, NJ Building Crossroads community center project. Jennifer also serves on the United States Tennis Association's New Jersey District Council having recently accepted appointment as Vice Chair for the 2021-22 term. With a mixture of litigation and transactional experience, Jennifer works with her clients to avoid future pitfalls from the beginning but is prepared to go to court when necessary to protect her client's interests.
