Ben Millar - Managing Director

Ben is experienced in all aspects of surveying - including large and small scale cadastral; engineering; civil; construction; and structural projects - and proficient in the use of the latest surveying technology, software and instrumentation. He has over 21 years' experience in Western Australia and overseas and is a Licensed Land Surveyor, registered Mine Surveyor and certified Engineering Surveyor who holds a current practicing certificate and accreditation. Ben is passionate about driving Links Surveying's research and development programs, implementing new processes, building a sustainable company structure and guiding the management team to future growth. He is a member of the Western Australian Institute of Surveyors and acted as its Vice President and President, respectively, from 2010 to 2012. With post graduate qualifications including a Certificate of Registration and a Certificate of Competency from the Land Surveyors Licensing Board and the award of the John Cavill Memorial Prize from Curtin University under his belt, Ben completed the Growth Owner Program at Curtin University's Centre for Entrepreneurship in 2012 and 2013.

Brett Myles

Job Titles:
  • Land Development Manager
Brett provides expertise on the subdivision and strata titling processes involving the WA Planning Commission, Landgate and other statutory bodies. An experienced Project Surveyor and Project Manager, he is well qualified to assist with a wide range of survey projects including small and large scale land developments and sub-divisions, strata services, civil works and construction in metropolitan and rural WA and remote (FIFO) resource projects. Brett has worked in the surveying industry for 20 years. He is a member of the Western Australian Institute of Surveyors and holds a Bachelor of Surveying degree from Curtin University. He is also a Licensed Land Surveyor with a Certificate of Competency and current practising certificate. Enjoying a keen interest in sport, Brett is an active member of several local sporting clubs (including AFL, Little Athletics and Netball). Whether he is a player, coach, official or committee member, he is enthusiastic about the everyday running and decision-making processes that are the heart of a community club. He also loves watching movies, gardening, going crabbing and kayaking and spending time in Perth's picturesque Swan and Bickley valleys.

Caroline Baker-Nelson

Job Titles:
  • Office Manager
Caroline joined the team at Links Surveying in 2005 and is responsible for everyday office procedures, accounts payable and receivable, BAS, wages and management of financial reporting. With 40 years' experience in administration, Caroline has been able to adapt to, and embrace, the challenges of constant technology changes throughout her career. Previous roles have included administrative tasks for a variety of businesses ranging from chemists, car dealers, meat exporters and poultry breeders to boat builders. Although she first came to Australia as a "£10 Pom", Caroline has been a devoted Australian citizen for most of her life. She values time with her family and friends and enjoys wood working, outdoor activities including Rogaining (day/night bush navigating), walking, cycling and music.

Drew Ditton

  • Cadastral Manager
Drew is a Licensed Surveyor, holds a current practising certificate and has been working in the industry since 2003. He gained his Bachelor of Surveying from Curtin University in 2009, followed by a Surveying License in 2013. He is also a member of the Western Australian Institute of Surveyors. Drew has a strong focus on the land development sector and this is the area of surveying he is most passionate about. He is experienced in a wide range of large and small-scale subdivisions and strata developments as well as other land boundary-related aspects of surveying. Outside of work, Drew loves to spend time with his family and enjoys mountain biking and relaxing in his backyard with the smell of a slowly cooking barbecue in the background. He also has an avid interest in computers and technology.

Ryan Sercombe

Job Titles:
  • Survey Manager
Ryan has worked with Links Surveying for 12 years, starting as a Skilled Field Surveyor before progressing to Survey Manager. He is experienced in many aspects of surveying including rural and metropolitan construction, small and large-scale land development, roads, monitoring, civil works, and remote resource projects. Ryan holds a Certificate IV in Surveying and Cartography and has completed further studies in Engineering and Mine Surveying at Central TAFE. He is also a father of three and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He particularly loves exploring the beautiful beaches and forests found in Western Australia's south west region. Ryan counts camping, canoeing, snorkelling and adventure motorbike rides amongst his hobbies and is partial to a glass of scotch!
