The best teachers learn what the needs of the student are and tailor the learning to the student and their needs. By learning about their interests, motivations, and concerns for the world, learning is not as much about imparting information as it is about windows into the world. I have taught math, writing, college admissions, and many other subjects to students in Kinder through Graduate level, but I always walk away learning too. I believe learning is encapsulated in this quote by Les Brown: "Too many of us are not living our dreams, because we are living our fears. "
