Ronnie Glass returned to Northern Ireland in 1971 after graduating from The City University, London. He worked with J Lizars (NI) Limited for 5 years gaining unusual experience fitting complex contact lenses for the Royal Victoria and other major hospitals. Ronnie established his first practice in Carrickfergus in 1976, took over the franchise of the Belfast Cooperative Society Opticians in 1977 and opened the Botanic Avenue, Belfast practice in 1981. The Botanic Avenue practice now includes the Black & Lizars Wellington Place Belfast practice (formerly J Lizars) which closed in December 2018 after 126 years!
There are four R. A. Glass Associate practices in Comber, Glengormley, Holywood and Larne run by four experienced and enthusiastic optometrists who also offer high quality service with advanced technology.
