Adrian Cheesman - Managing Director

Adrian joined the British Army in 1981 leaving his home town of Ipswich to spend his initial two years military service at the Army Apprentice College, now the Foundation College, in Harrogate. Originally Adrian trained as an electronics engineer in the Royal Corps of Signals but, like most careers in the Armed Forces, he gained opportunities to train in other areas obtaining additional skills and qualifications. His military career took him to various locations around the world including Germany, Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, The Falklands and Nepal. Adrian spent his final 4 years Army service working within a Tri-Service military recruitment environment. It was during this final posting that Adrian decided that there was a requirement for a commercial recruitment agency that specialised in promoting the skills and employability of ex-military personnel. In March 2005 Adrian established Demob Job. ‘It's been very rewarding seeing my initial idea grow into an established business. I have a great team who deliver a valued service to many companies throughout the UK resulting in the Demob Job brand name being synonymous with the delivery of quality candidates' Away from work Adrian spends too much time at the cinema, walking his dogs and not enough time out running having convinced himself that it is within his capabilities to run a sub 2 hour Great North Run.

Charlotte Ferguson

Charlotte joined Demob Job in 2022 after leaving a 6-year career in the Automotive industry. Charlotte's values lie heavily on delivering exceptional customer service with any role she takes on, treating clients and candidates with the utmost respect and care. She is driven by the desire to help people and is looking forward to having a career that delivers this. Charlotte has previously spent time out in Africa in 2012, volunteering with the help of a volunteer travel operator specialising in ethical and sustainable travel, assisting local communities in building homes, schools, and infrastructure to improve their quality of life, as well as environmental and wildlife projects aiding the conservation of endangered plants and animals.

Dawn Urwin

Dawn joined Demob Job having previously trained as a junior account executive within a recruitment agency and worked as a business-to-business retentions and loyalty agent serving large companies. Her main passion is customer service as she worked in the retail sector for ten years and gained excellent customer service skills. Starting as an assistant Dawn worked her way up to management level and supported a large team of up to 80 colleagues. Dawn prides herself on building valuable relationships with her customers and she is here to help and support those who need it, keeping their best interest at heart. Outside of work Dawn enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going for walks with her Partner and her dog Ted and candle making with her daughter. Dawn is keen to connect and speak with people leaving their military engineering and technical careers to offer advice and direct support in securing future employment.

Joanne Foster

Joanne joined Demob Job in October 2008 after a successful career as a Senior Negotiator in a local Estate Agency. Joanne has a strong passion for working in a ‘target-driven', sales environment' and has become a key member of the Demob Job team. She is recognised as one of the top performing consultants within the business. During her time at Demob Job, Joanne has gained a strong understanding of the Technical, Engineering, and FM Sectors and has developed many successful client relationships. With Joanne's experience within the recruitment industry, she is able to quickly establish and understand her client's needs and requirements, something which they often acknowledge and is demonstrated by her continual success at filling client vacancies with quality candidates. She has some indirect ties to the military having been a Brigadier's PA in Germany whilst her husband served in the British Army, therefore she has a strong understanding and insight of military life and the transferable skills service leavers can offer potential employers in the commercial sector. Finding the perfect match between a candidate, role, and company is very important to Joanne. She enjoys being able to assist companies in their search for talent and finds nothing more motivating and satisfying than placing ex-military candidates into their new careers. Outside of work Joanne enjoys socialising with friends and family, although most of her time is spent entertaining her crazy Labradors, Frank and Nancy!

Kelly Chandler

Following a twelve-year career within the Banking sector, Kelly joined Demob Job in 2016 as Business Development Manager. Kelly prides herself on service delivery, she is very focused on ensuring everyone she talks to, is provided with the very best customer service experience. Speaking with UK companies of all sizes, discussing their engineering and technical recruitment needs and ultimately advising on how to successfully connect with the very best engineering and technical talent leaving the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force. Kelly is passionate about helping people and is excited to see what the future holds as she moves into her new position as a Recruitment Consultant. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys travelling with her husband and is kept busy with their daughter Mollie and son Jake, who is currently serving in the Royal Air Force.
