Cathy worked at Juvenile Court, Supervisor of the Administrative Services Department for 29 years. During my tenure at Juvenile Court, I finished college and graduated with an Accounting Degree. Cathy retired in June 2017.
KATHY BURK - In 2011, after fourteen years of employment, I retired from the Department of Human Services to enter a new phase of life. Since retirement from Allegheny County I attained a second retirement from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and then earned a Doctorate in Rhetorical Studies from Duquesne University while serving as an adjunct instructor. I now enjoy traveling to visit my four children and three, soon to be four, grandchildren. Hugh was the Principal Architect & Manager of Architectural Services for the Department of Aviation & Allegheny County Airport Authority, as part of the team that oversaw the construction and operation of the Pittsburgh International Airport Mid-Field Terminal Complex, completed on-time & under-budget in 1992, for 28 years until his retirement in 2015. Hugh is enjoying reconnecting with many familiar faces that he met during his years with the County, thru his involvement with the Retirees Association.
I was the Senior Deputy Director with Allegheny County Department of Economic Development. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department and oversaw the federal programs of the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Program and the Emergency Solution Grant. Currently the president of six HUD 202 nonprofit senior living properties. After more than 42 years of service with Allegheny County, I retired in 2022.
I have been married to my wife, Paula, for 41 years. We have two children and three grandchildren.

Marge formerly worked for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services as the Senior Communications Manager. Prior to working for DHS, she worked in the Office of Commissioner Michael Dawida. After twelve years of service with Allegheny County she retired in 2008. Marge currently resides in Brookline.
