Averil K. Andrews specializes in complex commercial litigation & business disputes. Prior to joining Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor P.C., Averil practiced in Miami and Los Angeles, handling all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts and arbitrations including jury trial and appellate work. Her practice has touched an array of industries and areas of law including, intellectual property, entertainment, technology, securities, real estate, pharmaceuticals, corporate divorce, legal malpractice, and international law.
Averil earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Virginia and her Law Degree from the University of Miami School of Law with cum laude honors. While in law school, she served as the Research & Writing Editor for the Business Law Review Journal, as an intern in the Human Rights Clinic where she advocated for domestic violence policy reform, and as member of the International Moot Court Program where she briefed and argued the University of Buenos Aires International Commercial Arbitration Moot entirely in Spanish. Prior to joining the firm, Ben practiced professional liability defense in Denver, representing doctors, hospitals, and attorneys in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings. Ben also practiced energy law for a Houston-based firm, where he served clients in title matters, regulatory proceedings, and transactional matters.
After law school and before returning to his native Colorado, Ben clerked in the Oregon Court of Appeals, first for Justice Bronson D. James and then for Judge Ramón A. Pagán.
In law school, Ben graduated with magna cum laude honors and was awarded for top grades in Business Associations, Energy Law, and several taxation courses. He served as a member and editor of the Maine Law Review for his final two years of law school. Brenton Gragg is a commercial litigation and bankruptcy attorney. Brenton represents businesses and individuals in contract disputes, business breakups, mechanic's lien litigation, construction defect actions, and tort claims in state and federal courts through trial and appeal. Though Brenton litigates cases of all sizes and levels of complexity, his practice often involves cases with numerous parties and claims, sometimes with parallel proceedings in other courts. Super Lawyers selected Brenton as a Rising Star in business litigation for both 2024 and 2025, an award given to the top 2.5% of candidates nominated.
Brenton's bankruptcy practice benefits his clients because while other parties must retain additional counsel when bankruptcy becomes an issue, Brenton can transition seamlessly. Drew is an experienced transactional attorney. His real estate practice services clients across the spectrum, from commercial tenants/landlords to private equity firms focused on multi-family, mixed use, and commercial real estate investments across the country. Drew's business law practice assists clients in matters including corporate structuring and mergers and acquisitions, and serves as "outside general counsel" for small to medium sized businesses and start-ups.
While pursuing his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) at the Florida A&M University College of Law, Drew received several academic accolades, including awards in Property Law and Contract Law, served as a Teaching Assistant for Constitutional Law, and was invited to compete in the Philip C. Eric R. Jonsen's practice primarily focuses on litigation, commercial litigation, real estate transactions, malpractice and insurance. Starting in 2006, in addition to his private practice, Eric became general counsel to a local bank, as well as to a real estate developer on a $100,000,000 real estate project in Broomfield, Colorado.
Eric has tried and settled legal malpractice, banking malpractice, banking lending, loan participation, real estate and various contract and personal injury cases to juries, to the bench and in arbitration. Jackson was born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts. After high school, he toured colleges across the nation from Vermont to Oregon before arriving in Colorado. Within the first few hours in the state, he fell in love with the mountains and knew he had found his new home. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he met his wife, Megan, and studied philosophy. Through his degree, he honed his thoughtful and creative approach to problem-solving and gained a deep appreciation for the role empathy plays in zealot advocacy. These lessons drew Jackson to the practice of law, charting new territory as the first attorney in his family.
Jackson attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he was drawn to the theatrical, fast-paced nature of trial work. During law school he served as a clerk for the presiding criminal judge in Colorado's 2nd Judicial District and worked as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic. After his graduation in 2015, he began his practice in the areas of criminal defense and family law. Jason Wareham is a trial and appellate lawyer who has tried dozens of state, federal, and military courts and administrative hearing cases. Vandana S. Koelsch is a seasoned commercial litigator specializing in privacy, intellectual property, and appellate litigation, providing counsel on high-profile cases in Colorado and beyond. Vandana serves on the Ethics Committee of the Colorado Bar Association.
Her appellate experience spans numerous courts, including the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Vandana has handled significant commercial and intellectual property cases in these courts, often representing clients in complex disputes arising from technology, telecommunications, and patent infringement matters.
Yvonne Davis joined Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich and Factor P.C. in 2016 after serving thirteen years as Judicial Assistant for U.S. Magistrate Judge Craig B. Shaffer (D. Colo). Her primary focus is docketing all incoming pleadings for state, federal, and specialty courts. She manages the firm's automated pleading processing and calendaring programs. Additionally, Yvonne provides drafting support for bankruptcy, state and federal pleadings, and corporate transactional matters.
Yvonne is passionate about community involvement and volunteers as a youth basketball coach, in addition to various leadership positions supporting her sons' public schools.
