Born on 31st July 1959, Dr. Mony after completion of Medical Science, specialized in Psychiatry and took his MD in flying colours. He has the distinction of being the "Fellow of Psychiatric Society", FIPS in short. His brilliant career commenced when he was appointed as Assistant Surgeon, Tamil Nadu Medical Services. Later he set up his Clinic, Balaji Neuro Psychiatric Centre which paved the way for his outstanding contribution in Psychiatric Counselling and Psychotherapy.
With a humanitarian spirit and a love for society he spread his wings far and wide and has left indelible imprints in different walks of life. As a member in significant Government Committees like, Crime Against Women, Anti Ragging, District level Monitoring for Cable TV Channels and Aerodrome Committee, his selfless service deserves high commendation. He is a Trustee member of "Kongunadu Mananala Arakattalai" , which is a platform for him to impart mental wellness to the needy.
His Contribution in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy ha earned great laurels for him. Being an eminent Resource person and Master Trainer, he has conducted awareness programs on Gender Sensitization, Stress Management, and Professional Excellency for Police Personnel, Trainee Wardens of Central Prison and Forest Personnel. As an Educational Counsellor and Psychotherapist he has offered Life Enrichment Education Classess sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt, of India to College Students. His educational counseling has benefited numerous students from schools and colleges, inmates of central prison, divorced persons single parent and rape victims.
Training programs for parents of special children, stress management training programs in Entrepreneur Associations, Bar Associations and NGO's speaks volumes of his commitment to societal needs. Awareness programs on different topics like Aids Awareness, Stop Child Abuse, Anti Child Labour, Anti ragging and Drug abuse are a regular feature in his dedicated service to humanity. His humane services finds expression through his training courses for Medically deprived sections of society, school dropouts and free medical camps for slum dwellers. As a social activist he holds a prime position as a blood donor, and an environmentalist. One of his most benevolent contribution to society was the excellent and need of the hour counseling which he offered for 125 victims of Coimbatore Bomb Blast Tragedy in 1998, with free supply of medicines.
He also extends his humane service to the society through Print and Visual Media to create awareness on Psychiatric problems. He has authored a book titled "Nalliravu", which is freely issued to the libraries of Coimbatore. In recognition of his yeoman service, he was awarded, "Doctor of Excellence", by KG Foundation. With great devotion and dedication, his noble career has transcended to great heights. By transforming the lives of innumerable individuals and instilling in them, a sense of love for life, he stands tall as an example of selfless service, with a marvelous sense of social and moral responsibility.
Dr. Pavithra Mony is a Consultant Psychiatrist. In clinical practice, she works exclusively as adult and women Psychiatric Consultant at treating patients with a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, PTSD, Externalizing disorders. Well-rounded and culturally sensitive with a commitment to providing first-rate emotional support to patients and family members. In-depth knowledge of psychology and various conditions and treatment plans. Specialties include addiction and mood disorders. Capable of analyzing patient's backgrounds and symptoms and deciding on the very best treatment plans. Dr. Pavithra Mony treats various mental conditions affecting the population, relating to psychological, behavioral, and developmental issues. She strives to ensure that a holistic approach is taken while providing treatment. She offers an one to one counselling and gets an initial assessment of the patient, considering psychological, biological, social, and environmental factors, and then creates a therapy model that best suits the patient. She strongly believes that the strong mental health is the most important factor in shaping the future of growth and development. With that thought, coupled with focus and sense of boundaries, she thrives to help and support patient's to reach positive decisions in each phase of their lives.
Dr. Pavithra Mony completed her MBBS from Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Saveetha University and obtained her M.D degree in Psychiatry from Pondicherry Institute Of Medical Sciences PIMS Hospital Puducherry, Pondicherry University.
