The apheresis process separates whole blood into plasma and its cellular components. A specialized device is used for the process. Apheresis is widely used for plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, stem cell collection, leukapharesis, photopheresis and lymphocyte collection. At the CAG, we are always looking to collaborate with medical professionals who share our passion for research in the field of apheresis and for finding treatments for various diseases... At the annual meeting the CAG focuses on new evidence and techniques for apheresis. We also carry out a data review. In these reviews the physicians are asked to comment on the data. All attendees address the feasibility of creating a future pilot or randomized study. The database is very helpful as a basis for deciding on the need for new trials.
