Cait Rogers

Background: Cait is currently the administration assistant and has recently started with Dundee Recycling. She has worked in administration and operations for over 10 years in many different settings. She graduated from Lambton College with a Social Service Worker Diploma, the foundation of which has moved her forward in developing many skill sets. Cait is passionate about creating a positive atmosphere while maintaining a high level of productivity. After many years in administration Cait is excited to take on the challenge of organization, communication and assisting in process improvements. Her goal within this company is to become a strong, helpful part of the daily unit maintaining fantastic customer service, attention to detail and assisting in facilitating a continued high level of success.

Chris Burgess

Job Titles:
  • Senior Account Manager
Background: Chris has been involved in the scrap recycling industry for 10 years now. Beginning his career at ArcelorMittal Dofasco after graduating from McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Chris was a sourcing Analyst and was able to learn about the entire Steelmaking process from the ground up. He grew his knowledge of the Steelmaking process in everything from understanding scrap steel commodities, melt chemistries and the process of purchasing scrap steel to support the creation of new steel. Wanting to learn more, Chris moved on from the Steel making side to the Scrap Recycling side where he was introduced to Non-Ferrous metal trading and was able to grow his knowledge in the world of Non-Ferrous metals. Now with Dundee Recycling he has the responsibility of connecting Dundee with new suppliers on both the Ferrous and Non-Ferrous side and developing relationships with Ferrous and Non-Ferrous consumers across North America.

Ivan Gallant

Job Titles:
  • General Manager
Background: Ivan started his career in the metal recycling industry 30 years ago. Ivan started out as a general labourer doing all sorts of jobs. From sorting and cleaning metals to weighing in customer's scrap. Ivan grew to love the industry and applied himself in every job he could, learning everything from crane operations to driving trucks and everything in between. Ivan has worked for some of the industry's biggest companies and landed his role with Dundee Recycling in 2011 and has since overseen all operations in the ferrous yard. Ivan's day to day is making sure the yard flows seamlessly and is in good order. Ivan is a huge team player and the go to problem solver.

Katie Morana

Job Titles:
  • Account Manager
Background: Katie started her Career 16 years ago with one of the largest Telco companies in North America. While working with that organization Katie held many roles and obtained many awards and certificates relating to Customer Excellence, Project/Program Management, New Construction to Development working with builders and working with Large Commercial Sales, fostering, and meeting all contractual sales negotiations. Katie is determined and enthusiastic about the metal recycling industry, spending several weeks in the yard processing, and identifying various commodities, and even assisting with bailing. In the first month with Dundee Recycling Katie efficiently connected with existing and many new account dealerships to personally introduce herself, demonstrating her ambitious nature and personable approach. Katie looks forward to continuing to expand her knowledge of various Ferrous- and Non-Ferrous materials while applying her prior client relationship experience to expand and grow Dundee Recycling client base with professionalism, integrity, and outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Kevin Kropf

Background: Kevin has been with Dundee Recycling for 6 years now. Kevin joined shortly after his brother Stephen assumed the role of President. Kevin finished university with a BOS (Bachelor of Science degree). It did not take him long to realize his calling was in the family business of metal recycling. Kevin started his career at Dundee working in the warehouse as a general labourer doing all sorts of jobs from torching and sorting metals to helping customers unload their vehicles and educating our customers on proper segregation of their metals. Kevin has had many roles within the company and now has his role of operations manager of non-ferrous. Kevin oversees the daily flow of our warehouse, quality control of all incoming and outgoing metals. Kevin also oversees the shipping and receiving of all non-ferrous movement.

Laura Rivais

Job Titles:
  • Bookkeeper
Background: Laura has been with Dundee Recycling for 4 years now. Laura graduated from Conestoga College from the accounting coop program. Laura was hired as our bookkeeper and has since made life effortless in our accounting department. Laura has had many roles in the accounting and bookkeeping field and in 2019 applied to an ad as Dundee was in need of a new bookkeeper. Hiring Laura was an excellent choice, and we can't be happier with what she brings to the team. Laura helps anyplace that she can and is a huge team player. Laura's goal is to expand the accounting team and help that department with future growth. Laura's favourite part of the job is getting to know a completely different industry and working with people from all around the world.

Melissa Carpenter

  • Non - Ferrous Operations Manager
Background: Melissa started her career as a first responder working alongside other medical professionals. She worked closely with patients, families, and some of the most amazing people in the world. Melissa immediately realized that it wasn't just the medical world she was interested in, but the people she meets along the way. Melissa was privileged to work in the school board, working with "at risk students" transitioning back into the school system from gang and violence. This is where she saw her passion for life. Melissa's extensive experience leading large, cross-functional groups in the operations world over the last 15 years has been a kay factor in her success. Her exceptional communication skills have enabled her to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and efficiency in achieving organizational goals. Melissa's experience in the waste industry has been instrumental in her journey to Dundee Recycling. With her background in waste management and sustainability, brings valuable insights and expertise to the organization. Melissa's unique perspective and hands-on experience in the operations world makes her an asset driving innovation and excellence within our company.

Stephen Kropf - President

Stephen started his career in the metal recycling industry at the age of 13! After school and on weekends he would help his father and grandfather around the yard doing things like sweeping, cleaning, and removing steel from brass and copper. At the age of 18, Stephen became a full-time employee with the company and immediately got his AZ driver's license. He drove a variety of trucks (and still does from time to time), doing deliveries of our metals and servicing our accounts. At the age of 25, Stephen's father promoted him to a manager's position. It did not take long for Dennis to see his true potential within the company as he played a major role in the expansion and growth of the company in a short period of time. In 2017, at the age of 28, Stephen was named President and his father Dennis took a step back. Since the time Stephen took over his role, the company has seen huge growth, innovation and success that has made Dundee Recycling into what it is today. Stephen continues to grow his team and add new value daily.

Tim Belmore - VP

Background: Working in the metal recycling industry for 22 years, Tim has gained extensive knowledge and experience within this business. Tim started working at the local scrap yard for a summer job in high school and fell in love with the industry, moving his way through the business and learning every job possible. From torching iron in the yard to trading metals with the world's biggest consumers. He has worked for some of the industry's best companies throughout his 22-year career until connecting with Stephen Kropf and Dundee Recycling. They both share the same determination and work ethics and work tirelessly to keep the company growing to make Dundee Recycling a place that people can call home for many years to come. Tim oversees all aspects of Dundee Recycling's non-ferrous activities.
