FOUTA DE VAL

Fouta de Val was founded in 2011 by Stockholm-based architect Ellinor de Val. The idea is to mix traditional handicraft techniques with innovative patterns and looks. We design foutas that can have different uses depending on the season. Use them as a towel on the beach, a blanket inside, tablecloth or as the perfect setting for a picnic... Fouta de Val plays with traditional handicraft and a contemporary scandinavian design and colour pallet. We believe in innovative ways of thinking about textiles and garments based on sustainability values and an interconnected approach to design. Our aim is to design foutas with timeless looks that last for more than a season... Partially a wrap, nearly a blanket, more than just a scarf. Though there's been some discussion on what to call it, there are no doubts on the pure comfort we feel wearing it.
