Born in 1978, he is the CEO & EVP and founder of WiTech and Board Member and Shareholder in various start-ups.
He has a strong technical and economic background in the telecommunication sector with a focus on next generation networks and services.
Mr. Calcagno started his career at Telecom Italia Labs in Turin, where he performed advanced Research & Development activities in mobile access networks, gaining some international patents on mobile broadband architectures.
Today Mr. Calcagno is a well-known and respected expert on next generation wireless technologies (WiFi, 3G, WIMAX/LTE) and has authored several articles and reports on the subject. Mr. Calcagno is also CEO and EVP of Lagaria S.r.l., President of Family Fund 4Gi S.r.l., and Board member in some start-ups.
Thanks to his technical and technological background, Mr. Calcagno implements a leadership for product development and consulting and engineering services related to key customers.
Mr. Calcagno was the leader for more than 50 projects involving wireless next generation networks and services (WiFi,3G/HSPA, WiMAX, LTE, Smart Metering) for different Telco Operators, System Integrators, Vendors and Consulting Firms in Inside Market and International Arena.
Mr. Calcagno earned a Degree in Telecommunications Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Pisa, Italy.
Born in 1956 in Turin (Italy), from February 2012 is a member of the "Advisory Board" Is TECH and, since July of the same year, he is Director of Business Unit "Environment".
