KOUNOUNE POWER

Kounoune Power SA, a subsidiary of Melec PowerGen Inc, developed, built and operates a 67.5 Megawatt heavy fuel power plant in Senegal, based on a 15-years BOO contract with the local utility Senelec. The project benefits from a long term financing package by international institutions lead by the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) and the African Development Bank. It is the first infrastructure project in Senegal carried out by private investors... The Kounoune power station is an oil-fired power station in Senegal. It is located in Kounoune, 23 kilometres (14 mi) east of Dakar.
