LAREDO MATH 7

Welcome to 7th grade mathematics! Our goal in the classroom is to be active critical thinkers, examining mathematical problems with a critical eye and using a variety of strategies to solve the problems. We also want to apply these skills in the real world in our every day challenges. During the beginning of the school year we will develop algebraic thinking by examining linear relationships. This will create a foundation for algebraic representations through words, tables, graphs and equations. This concept is continual throughout 7th and into 8th grade. We will also master pre-algebra skills by investigating similar figures, determining mathematical comparisons and using operations with positive and negative numbers.
