Aaron Weitzen - Managing Director

Aaron Weitzen is responsible for evaluating real estate equity and debt investment opportunities. Prior to joining Northwood Investors, Aaron Weitzen worked at Westbrook Partners in New York City from 2014 to 2020 as an Associate and Vice President. At Westbrook, Mr. Weitzen focused on acquisitions and the subsequent asset management of value-add/opportunistic investments in the New York metropolitan area. Prior to joining Westbrook, Mr. Weitzen worked on the acquisitions team at Clarion Partners in New York City from 2010 to 2014. At Clarion, Mr. Weitzen focused on acquisitions in Texas, Florida, the Midwest, and Eastern regions of the United States, covering multiple property types and risk strategies. Mr. Weitzen received a B.S. from Northwestern University in 2010.

Ajesh Jain - VP

Brady A. Thurman - CEO

Brady A. Thurman serves as the Co-Head of Acquisitions for the U.S., with responsibility for leading the team's U.S. investment efforts. In this role Mr. Thurman leads the team to develop conviction for target markets and sectors, define and pursue sourcing strategies, execute new acquisitions, and oversee the management of the U.S. portfolio. Mr. Thurman joined Northwood in 2007 and relocated to Los Angeles in 2011 to open the firm's west coast office. Mr. Thurman built Northwood's presence on the west coast and oversaw construction of the firm's west coast portfolio. Prior to joining Northwood, Mr. Thurman launched his career at Deutsche Bank, working in the RREEF Opportunity Funds group, where he was responsible for underwriting and executing U.S. real estate investment opportunities. Mr. Thurman received a B.S., magna cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Charles Vaughan

Charles Vaughan is the Global Head of Tax for Northwood Investors and is based in the Denver office. Mr. Vaughan is responsible for all fund and property level tax compliance and tax structuring, as well as overall management of the annual tax process. Prior to joining Northwood Investors, Mr. Vaughan was a Senior Manager in KPMG's real estate tax practice, where he specialized in the taxation of real estate funds and REITs. Previously, he also served as a Manager in the Passthroughs Group of KPMG's Washington National Tax practice, specializing in partnerships and REITs. Mr. Vaughan also has prior experience as a Tax Manager for a large, publicly-traded REIT. Mr. Vaughan holds a B.S. in Commerce and a M.S. in Accounting from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California and Virginia.

Cheryl Dallos - CHRO

As Chief Human Resources Officer, she is responsible for guiding and executing on the strategic human capital needs of the business and HR matters across the platforms. Prior to joining Northwood, Ms. Dallos was the Director of Human Resources for Leucadia National Corporation, a highly diversified Fortune 500 Holding Company. During her tenure there, she led the corporate HR function through due diligence and integration on acquisitions and supervised the divestiture of a multitude of separate entities. With 20 plus years in HR roles across a broad base of industries, Ms. Dallos has also held tenures at the British Broadcasting Corporation, Publicis Worldwide, Corbis Corporation and HSBC Bank. Ms. Dallos attended the University of Illinois - Champaign and continued her education at New York University in Leadership and Human Capital Management. She holds a certificate through the NYU program in Organizational and Executive Coaching. She is also certified as a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resources, and is a member of both the International Coach Federation and the American Society for Training and Development.

Christopher Caltabiano - SVP

Christopher Caltabiano is a Senior Vice President at Northwood Investors and is responsible for overseeing asset management activities, developing and executing investment strategies for a portfolio of Office and Mixed-Use Assets located across the US. Prior to joining Northwood, Mr. Caltabiano was a Senior Vice President at Shorenstein Properties and was responsible for overseeing construction, leasing and operations on a trophy caliber office property portfolio located along the East Coast. Prior to Shorenstein, Mr. Caltabiano served as a Vice President at AIG Global Real Estate, and as associate for Rockwood Real Estate Advisors, and as an analyst and consultant at Bloomberg Financial Markets. Mr. Caltabiano graduated from St. John's University with a B.S., and from NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate with an M.S. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate and a frequent lecturer on real estate, corporate finance, valuation and risk management at the universities and conferences. His research on these subjects has been published in the Real Estate Review.

Conrad Slater - VP

Dave Copeland - Managing Director

Prior to joining Northwood Investors, Mr. Copeland worked at Swift Real Estate Partners in San Francisco, where he was responsible for Swift's investment and asset management activities in Northern California. Mr. Copeland sat on Swift's Investment Committee, which oversaw all major investment and management decisions across four investment vehicles. Prior to joining Swift, Mr. Copeland worked at ASB Real Estate Investments, Presidio Partners (acquired by Macquarie Group) and Lincoln Property Company. Mr. Copeland earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Lafayette College.

David Ravin - President

During his 14-year tenure at Blackstone, he was based in London and Hong Kong and was involved in over $10 billion of real estate investments across all property types in Europe and Asia. He was involved in the Blackstone Real Estate Group's international expansion and played a key role in establishing Blackstone Real Estate's core plus business in Asia. Mr. Schaefer received an MBA from the EBS University Oestrich-Winkel in Germany, where he graduated magna cum laude, and he earned a MSc in Real Estate Finance with distinction from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

Gustaf Breitholtz - VP

Jacob Reingardt is Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all financial activities including financial reporting, accounting, treasury, and tax structuring and compliance. Mr. Reingardt transitioned to his current role as CFO at the start of 2019. Prior to joining Northwood, Mr. Reingardt was at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their New York, London, and Denver offices. Mr. Reingardt was responsible for managing financial statement audits for a diverse group of real estate private equity clients and publicly traded REITs while at PwC. Mr. Reingardt is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York and received a B.S. in Business Administration, cum laude, from Colorado State University.

Mr. Rosenberg is an accomplished hospitality executive with extensive international experience across multiple segments including luxury, upscale and select service. Prior to joining Northwood Hospitality, he was President of the Americas at Carlson Rezidor (Radisson Hotel Group), where he was responsible for the performance of more than 700 owned, managed and franchised hotels, as well as the growth of the business. Other past experiences include extensive global operational roles in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia with companies including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels and Resorts, Swissotel and others. Javier's experience across all disciplines in operations and management in the industry allows him to understand the challenges faced by those in the field. His ability to relate to individuals across all levels, speak the language of owners and operators, as well as his strong results and customer focus, have fueled his success since early in his career. He was awarded the Young Hotelier of Year award in 2001 by Hotels Magazine. Javier is regarded as an inspirational leader by his teams, many of whom he has either hired, developed and/or promoted. John Barton - President

With 24 years of experience in commercial real estate, John Barton focuses on further enhancing Northwood's office leasing and operations, integrating more mixed uses into Ballantyne and growing the company's management platform in other markets. Most recently, Barton served as managing director and co-head of HFF's Office Investment Advisory Group in Atlanta, where he handled sales of office buildings in the Southeast. Before joining HFF, Barton served as senior vice president and managing director of Parkway Properties, where he was responsible for the company's Atlanta and Philadelphia markets. During his 16-year career at Parkway, he was directly involved in all aspects of asset management, including leasing, operations and joint ventures in multiple Sunbelt and Mid-Atlantic markets.

John Z. Kukral - CEO, President

John Z. Kukral, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwood Investors LLC, has been an active real estate investor for over 41 years. Mr. Kukral serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee and approves all commitments by the firm. During his career, Mr. Kukral has been involved in over $43 billion of real estate transactions worldwide ranging from office buildings to shopping centers and hotels to residential assets. Mr. Kukral started his career at JMB Realty Corporation in 1982 and, prior to founding Northwood in 2006, he was most recently (1994 to 2005) with Blackstone Real Estate Advisors where he served as President and CEO from 2002 until his departure in 2005. During his tenure, Blackstone Real Estate Advisors grew to become one of the largest and most successful real estate managers globally. He served as a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group from 1997 through 2005 and was a member of the firm's Executive Committee from 2000 through 2005. As a Co-Head, and then as President and CEO of the group, Mr. Kukral was responsible for overseeing all investment activities of Blackstone's real estate funds including: (i) the completion of over $33 billion of real estate acquisitions and the related financings, restructurings, operations and sales; (ii) the creation of five real estate investment partnerships with approximately $5.8 billion in discretionary investment capital; and (iii) the day-to-day management of Blackstone's 70-person professional, financial reporting, and support staff. In this capacity, Mr. Kukral worked closely with Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of The Blackstone Group and John G. Schreiber, Partner and Founder of Blackstone Real Estate Advisors. During Mr. Kukral's tenure at Blackstone, the BREP Funds invested approximately $5.8 billion of equity capital in over 160 separate transactions, achieving a Gross Levered IRR of 37% and a 2.2x multiple on invested capital, in each case with respect to realized and partially realized investments of the BREP Funds as of the time of Mr. Kukral's departure from Blackstone on December 31, 2005. Of the approximately $3.5 billion invested in realized transactions during Mr. Kukral's tenure, he incurred only $40 million of losses, representing 1% of invested capital. Blackstone's historical investment performance of the BREP Funds during Mr. Kukral's tenure is summarized at the end of the document. Mr. Kukral received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, where he currently serves as a trustee on the school's board, and he received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Matt Roberts - Managing Director

Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Pinnacle Trust Partners in a similar role. Before Pinnacle, he was at Mallory Capital where he began his experience in fund placement. He started his career in finance as an institutional equity salesperson with Prudential where he was a Senior Vice President.

Michael Profenius - COO

Michael Profenius is Chief Operating Officer at Northwood and is responsible for overseeing fund accounting and reporting, investor relations, asset management, compliance, tax, information technology and human resources. Mr. Profenius has 41 years of experience in real estate investments, capital raising and operations. Prior to joining Northwood, he was a Senior Partner at Grove International Partners LLC. During his tenure at Grove, he held several senior management positions including Head of Business Development, a role responsible for generating new investment opportunities globally, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Capital Raising. Mr. Profenius also served on the Investment Committee of Alpine Grove Partners LLP, an affiliate of Grove. Prior to joining Grove, Mr. Profenius was a Managing Director in the Real Estate Group at Warburg Pincus LLC. While at Warburg Pincus, Mr. Profenius invested in a broad variety of commercial and residential real estate and hotel companies and properties in the United States, Europe, and Asia, with a primary focus on China. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Mr. Profenius was Co-Head and Managing Director of the Global Investment Banking and Hospitality Group of Merrill Lynch. During his 18-year career at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Profenius completed more than 75 equity offerings, which raised approximately $19 billion of capital for public and private real estate companies, including 20 initial public offerings, more than 60 advisory transactions for real estate, hospitality and finance companies aggregating in excess of $70 billion in value and numerous on-balance sheet loans and equity investments exceeding $10 billion in value. Mr. Profenius spent the last four years of his career at Merrill Lynch residing in London. He began his career at Dean Witter Realty in 1982. Mr. Profenius received a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University.

Natalie Bonicelli

Nate Hagerman - Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Legal Officer

Nick Turner

Olivier Marguin - Managing Director

Shiva Viswanathan serves as the Co-Head of Acquisitions for the U.S., with responsibility for leading the team's U.S. investment efforts. In this role Mr. Viswanathan leads the team to develop conviction for target markets and sectors, define and pursue sourcing strategies, execute new acquisitions, and oversee the management of the U.S. portfolio. Mr. Viswanathan joined Northwood in 2010 and has originated and executed investments in the U.S. across various sectors. Prior to joining Northwood, Mr. Viswanathan worked at Blackstone Real Estate Advisors, where he played an integral role in their corporate and property-level investments in the United States. Mr. Viswanathan received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Management Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also received a Master's degree in Real Estate Economics and Finance from London School of Economics where he graduated with distinction.

Sonya Chandra - Managing Director

Sonya Chandra is responsible for evaluating real estate investment opportunities through debt. Prior to joining Northwood Investors, Ms. Chandra worked at King Street Capital in New York City from 2014 to 2020 where she focused on distressed CMBS, real estate debt, and public real estate investments. Prior to joining King Street Capital, Ms. Chandra worked at Deutsche Bank as an Associate on the CMBS secondary trading desk, where she headed the group's distressed securities business. Ms. Chandra received a B.A. from Columbia University in 2011 and became a CFA charter holder in 2017.

Sophie Kramer - SVP

Sophie Kramer is a Senior Vice President at Northwood Investors and is responsible for European asset management and works closely with the asset managers in France and Italy. Prior to joining Northwood Investors, Mrs. Kramer was a Senior Director at TIAA-CREF/Nuveen, a global Investment Manager. During her time at TIAA CREF, Mrs. Kramer was asset managing a portfolio of $1.5 billion of assets in the UK and Europe. Previously, Mrs. Kramer held the role of Assistant Fund Manager at Rockspring PIM/Patrizia and the role of Asset Manager and analyst at AIG Global Real Estate Investment. She started her career at AXA REIM. Mrs. Kramer studied Architecture in Paris, Belleville and Edinburgh College of Art, and she also received her Masters in Real Estate from ESSEC Business School.

Ward A. Kampf - President

Ward A. Kampf serves as President of Northwood Retail. Since joining the organization in 2014, he has been responsible for developing and implementing the company's strategic vision, building trusted relationships with regional and national retailers, and managing Northwood Retail's long-term leasing ventures. With over 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Kampf previously served at a senior level within Glimcher Realty Trust, holding the positions of Senior Vice President of Strategic Investments and Senior Vice President of Retail Strategies. During his tenure, he was responsible for leading the retail leasing strategy for Scottsdale Quarter in Scottsdale, Arizona. From 2005 to 2009, he served as President of Retail for Thomas Enterprises, Inc., where he directed the leasing and management of several esteemed retail developments such as The RIM in San Antonio, Texas and The Forum in Carlsbad, California. In addition to these past achievements, he also held senior leadership roles at General Growth Properties and Gap Inc. Mr. Kampf received a BBA in Business from Southern Methodist University.
