Cheri Brown

Cheri joined Porter Brothers Construction, Inc. in 2000 and has over 25 years of accounting experience. Using Sage Timberline Construction Accounting System, Cheri is a full-charge bookkeeper, responsible for all accounting activities of the company as well as working with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Additionally, Cheri works with the architects and owners on their monthly pay applications assuring their payment processing and financial goals are met efficiently and on time as part of making the project a success. Cheri has proven to be a valuable part of the team with her detailed accounting and organizational skills

James R. Porter - President

Job Titles:
  • President
James Porter, an active member of the daily office operation including estimating, accounting, project management, and contract administration, established Porter Brothers Construction, Inc. in 1992. Backed with his 30 years of construction experience in the electrical field as an Estimator, Project Manager and Superintendent, James is well versed and has extensive experience in all aspects of construction to include mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil.

Jim Saylor - COO

Job Titles:
  • Director of Operations
Jim joined the Carpenters Union in November of 1989, becoming a foreman in 1991 and achieving Journeyman status in 1992. For more than 20 year, Jim has managed construction over a wide range of project types. His versatility and practical knowledge make him a valued leader. Key qualifications include estimating, safety programs and implementation, quality control, construction sequencing, and constructability review.

Jon Olson

Job Titles:
  • Site Superintendent
Jon brings to Porter Brothers Construction nearly 25 years of expert construction experience with a proven ability to execute tight schedules and budgets, plan for the job, and help to keep the bottom line target on track. He fosters great working relationships built on mutual respect of others while getting the job done on time and under budget. His insight and leadership on a job allows him to successfully organize and run that job site. Key qualifications include quality control, jobsite safety management, jobsite organization and scheduling, and coordination of job site employees and subcontractors.

Kari Locke

Kari brings with her a diverse background that includes over 20 years of business administration leadership. Combining her degree in Business as well as her experience, she is an asset to the team with the ability to lead and control specialized sections of the day-to-day operations both in the office and in the field for each project, working in collaboration with all team members, owners, and architects for effective business operations, while helping to maintain growth and stability for Porter Brothers Construction.

Kevin Zumek

  • Site Superintendent
Kevin has nearly 25 years of experience in the construction industry. As a Superintendent for Porter Brothers Construction, Kevin is responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of employees and subcontractors on the jobsite. Kevin monitors overall safety of field conditions, carrying out frequent safety checks and facilitates safety training of other employees for jobsite, equipment, and tool procedures. As an essential part of the team, his detail oriented and hardworking nature ensures that work is being completed to specifications and Porter Brothers Construction's high quality of standards. Laura Haavik

  • Project Manager
An efficient and reliable Project Manager with over ten years of experience, Laura has developed and maintained a systematic method for processing, distributing, organizing, tracking, filing, overseeing, and archiving all project related documents. Having a great understanding of public project delivery, she consistently demonstrates her ability to effectively communicate with architects, owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout all phases of the project. Sensitivity to the architect and owner's goals are key tasks that are critical to a successful project and Laura is an essential part of this process as Project Manager. Key Qualifications include contracts submittals, RFIs, CCDs, RFPs, and closeout.
