We have been involved in Boer goats for several years now (since we have children in 4-H), and have been breeding them since 2006. In the beginning, I was only looking for a weed eater, but we were lucky enough to find Garth and Ruthelda Holm of Sand Creek Boers. We bought 2 wethers from them the first time we bought goats, and we haven't been able to stay away from their place since. Now we built our herd up to over 100 goats (including all of the market, dairy, and mini breeds). I think we get the most pleasure from providing excellent wethers for local 4-H kids (not just our own 3 kids, but others too). We now have sold down to just a few top quality Boer goats.
