SYDIC

We are a professionally run organisation that is the main youth support service for the Aber Valley region of Caerphilly County Borough and aim to engage with young people on their terms. The provision is highly thought of locally and across the borough and has been flagged up as a best practice organisation working with young people, in fact SYDIC was the first youth organisation in the borough to receive the Children and Young Peoples Partnership Quality Mark. In 2014 Sydic members worked with animation company Gritty Realism to produce Shadows of Senghenydd, an animated tribute to the victims of the Senghenydd mining disaster. The film won Outstanding Contribution To Promoting & Supporting Culture Within Wales at the Youth Work Excellence Awards 2014 and Best Animation at the Zoom Cymru Young Film Maker Awards 2014.
