But when God instructed the people to pay tithes to the Levites, He also instructed the same Levites to pay a tithe (tenth) of those tithes to Aaron who was the chief priest (Numbers 18:26 - 28). If we are a kingdom of God's priests, then we should also be paying our tithes to our chief priests, in this case, our church overseers for the ministries that they oversee.
