Dr. Bowles completed his vascular and Endovascular surgery residency in Missouri at Saint Louis University. He received extensive training in complex aortic reconstruction, peripheral vascular disease, vascular trauma, dialysis access and vein therapy. Dr. Bowles treats patients with a wide spectrum of vascular challenges and disorders.

Dr. Hani Shennib

Hani Shennib, MD is the Founder, President and Medical Director of Vascular Heart & Lung Associates. He is a Clinical Professor of Vascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the College of Medicine - Phoenix, University of Arizona. Prior to this he was full professor of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Medicine, Transplantation and Immuno-biology at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada where he practiced, performed research and taught cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at its University Hospitals for over 25 years. Throughout his career, Dr. Shennib has had an interest in cutting-edge technology and minimally invasive interventions and contributed to development of the latest techniques and devices in both cardiac, vascular and lung surgery. He conducted the first North American clinical trial on the use of robotics for Coronary Artery Bypass surgery. He was a pioneer in thoracic transplantation where he performed many "firsts" in lung transplantation. He has published over 200 original articles, books and chapters, lectured extensively around the world in the field of vascular, cardiac, thoracic and transplantation surgery. He holds 17 patents. ​Read more about Dr. Shennib. Dr. Hani Shennib is Clinical Full Professor at the Department of Surgery, University of Arizona, School of Medicine in Phoenix. He is also an Adjunct Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is an internationally recognized cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon. After graduating in 1975, he did his postgraduate residency training in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at London University in the UK and McGill University in Montreal. Subsequently, he underwent further fellowship training in Thoracic Transplantation at the University of Toronto and in Vascular and Endovascular Therapy at the Arizona Heart Institute. He holds the American Board Certifications in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American College of Surgeons and is a member of numerous specialty societies. Dr. Shennib also holds a Master of Science degree in Experimental Surgery from McGill University. Following completion of training in 1988 Dr. Shennib functioned as an attending cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at the Montreal General Hospital where he established an active Thoracic Transplantation Program. He became involved in research and development of innovative Cardiothoracic and Vascular Technology. He was also actively involved in research and teaching at McGill University. His clinical area of expertise is in innovative minimally invasive techniques in cardiac, vascular and thoracic procedures. His field of expertise is "Application of and Assessment of New Devices and Technology in Medicine and Tele-surgery". Dr. Shennib conducted the first North American Clinical Trial on the use of robotics in coronary artery bypass surgery at New York Beth-Israel and St. Luc-Roosevelt Hospitals in 2000. He sits in numerous committees and advisory boards for innovative technology companies and medical societies and is involved in several international "think-tank" committees on innovations in the field of cardiovascular therapy. Dr. Shennib is equally recognized as an authority in the fields of transplantation and in surgical oncology. He is a full adjunct professor in the department of Oncology at McGill University and has chaired several NIH trials on lung cancer. Dr. Shennib relocated in 2008 from Montreal, Canada to Phoenix, Arizona where he continues his interests as physician, educator and researcher. Dr. Shennib participates in numerous trials for stent repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms and interventions for peripheral arterial disease. As a Professor at the University of Arizona, college of Medicine, he has participated in clinical studies on stenting for carotid artery disease, and innovative techniques for peripheral arterial interventions including in the office based setting. He was one of the first vascular specialists in the valley to adopt the use of more friendly office based cath labs as an alternative to in-hospital treatment of patients with peripheral vascular disease. The impact of transfer of treatments of patients from the hospital to the office setting promises a better quality and less cost to patients, Medicare and other insurers. Dr. Shennib is the North American representative and member of the executive board of the World Society of CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery and the chairman of the Vascular Domain of the World Society of CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery. He is an active member of many professional societies and sits on the membership and educational program committees of the Society of Vascular Medicine as well as being past member of numerous committees of the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons (AATS), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Coalition of vascular practicing Vascular and Cardiothoracic Surgeons, the Heart and Lung Transplantation Society, The European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery and many others. He has been on the editorial board of the Journal of Transplantation, Journal of Heart & Lung Transplantation, The European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery - Multimedia Journal and many others and has personally published and edited over 200 articles, books and chapters. Dr. Shennib is on the Canadian "who's who" and serves regularly as an advisor on establishing new medical centers worldwide (e.g. Kazakhstan, UAE, Bosnia, Egypt and Libya). In addition to his medical profession he has played key roles in international conflict resolution, participated in Middle East World Economic Forums and has held several prestigious positions including presidency of the National Council on Canada-Arab Relations and member of the Board of Governors of Concordia University in Montreal. He is also the founder of the National Council on US-Libya Relations, which provides educational resources about Libya in the US, as well as humanitarian help in Libya.
