I started training as a Counsellor in 2003 following more than 20 years working as a Radiographer/Sonographer in both the UK and overseas, in the NHS and private healthcare. My interest in Counselling came about when I started an "in house" counselling skills training course at Leicester Royal Infirmary because I thought it would be useful to me as a Radiographer. I became hooked and wanted to learn more, so I carried on to train as a Person Centred Counsellor through South Leicestershire College. I completed my training placements firstly at the Market Harborough Counselling practice and later at Latham House GP practice in Melton Mowbray... I qualified in 2007 and went on to work as a volunteer Counsellor for both Latham House, MIND in Corby and De Montfort University (DMU). As my counselling skills developed I studied for and gained an Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Practice for Person-Centred Therapists at Warwick University.
