Helen assists with all the administrative requirement of the correspondent conveyancing team.
Jonathan is a qualified attorney, notary public and conveyancer. He became a partner at Barnes & Ross in King William's Town in 1980 before becoming a director at Smith Tabata Inc. in 1996, where he headed the Commercial Law Department at the firm's East London offices. In 2012, he started his own practice, Jonathan Clark Attorney. This firm developed into the present Clark Laing Inc. Jonathan advises on commercial and corporate matters and property law, including related litigation, and provides advice on trusts and serves in trusteeship roles. Jonathan also carries out pro bono work from time to time and is chairperson of a trust that provides assistance for the surgical care of children in public health facilities. In his free time he enjoys walking, traveling and reading.

Lee-Anne is our lead correspondent conveyancing secretary, assisting all correspondent attorneys with the registration of property transfers and bonds.
Liesl-Ann Monaghan studied at the University of Natal, Durban for a Social Science Degree. She then studied for her LLB, through Unisa, and completed her articles at Barnes & Ross, later Smith Tabata Inc. Liesl-Ann was admitted as an attorney in 2000. She opened up her own firm shortly thereafter, and was later joined by her husband, Peter. She practised under the name, Monaghan Attorneys, for 16 years. Liesl-Ann was admitted as a conveyancer in 2004 and has practised and been involved in the King William's Town Deeds Registry since then. She prides herself in a longstanding relationship with the KWT Deeds Registry Office. She is passionate about all aspects of conveyancing, having had a local practice and correspondent practice to run. In mid-2017 Liesl-Ann left her practice for a part time appointment at Cooper, Conroy, Bell & Richards Inc. In January 2020 she joined the team at CLARK LAING inc. bringing with her, her passion for people, conveyancing and practice management. She has experience in all things pertaining to property.

Shizelle is the firm's office manager. She worked extensively in the private sector before entering the legal field in 2008. Shizelle ensures the smooth functioning of the firm's professional operations, including management of the firm's finances, management of staff, marketing and interfacing with the public.
Sifungile Chinyamurindi is an experienced legal professional with a demonstrated history of working in private practice, public sector and within the regulatory landscape of the Eastern Cape province. She is an admitted attorney and has been working in the public sector, within legal, compliance and governance, for the past ten years. She commenced her legal career at Smith Tabata Inc. and later proceeded to holding the positions of Manager: Legal Services & Board Secretariat at the Eastern Cape Gambling Board, as well as Company Secretary (Senior Manager: Legal Compliance & Governance) at the Eastern Cape Development Corporation. Whilst having a well-rounded background in general litigation, her areas of expertise are company law, corporate governance, public procurement and administrative law.
Sifungile is currently a Master of Laws candidate in Competition Regulation. She is also a Board Member of Meals on Wheels Community Services (Eastern Cape), a non-profit organisation where she contributes to a cause which is so close to her heart.
She joined Clark Laing Inc. as a Senior Associate within the Public Law Unit, and is now a Director within the firm.
Simone has completed her LLB degree and joins Clark Laing inc. as an Article Clerk for 2022 and 2023.

Sue is a senior conveyancing secretary who oversees our conveyancing administration department and bond cancellations. She also assists with deceased transfers. She has 45 years of experience in the registration of complex property transfers.

Tanya is the firm's estates administrator. She has received training in the administration of estates and worked at Nolan Flemmer Attorneys before joining Clark Laing Inc. With her experience in estates, Tanya assists clients with the complexities of the winding-up process: from the decease of the testator until the final distribution of estate assets.

Wendy is an attorney and conveyancer who was admitted as such in 1998 and 1999 respectively. Prior to joining CLARK LAING inc., she practised at Smith Tabata Inc, where she was an equity director as well as the head of various departments throughout the years. Wendy advises on a large range of property related matters in both the public and private sector, having performed work and registered numerous transactions for various spheres of government, parastatals, corporates, developers, financial institutions and private clients. She also attends on the Deeds Registries Office in King William's Town on behalf of the firm and our various correspondent attorneys. Her other areas of work involve commercial matters, contract and will drafting as well as lecturing.
