Abigail Phillips

Abigail is an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Food Studies. She is interested in many aspects of both child and adult cognition but look to pursue nutritional psychiatry mainly. In the future, she hope to gain a masters or PhD in Clinical Psychology with specializations in nutrition and children.

Adrika Chakraborty

Adrika was a senior at Troy High School in California. She is interested in pursuing biochemistry and neurobiology in college.

Alex Tremblay-McGaw

Alex was an undergraduate student at Skidmore College double-majoring in psychology and economics. She was interested in cognitive and clinical psychology and wants to pursue clinical psychology as a career. Her plan was to attend graduate school after graduation. She spent one summer in our lab.

Anisha Adke

Anisha was an undergraduate student in biology at the University of Oregon. She is primarily interested in neuroscience and behavior.

Annie Rian

Annie graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in psychology. She's interested in the effects of traumatic stress on the brain, and plans to work as a therapist specializing in PTSD in combat vets.

Anthony Resnick

Anthony graduated from Temple University with a degree in Neuroscience. Interested in memory and perception and hoping to continue his education in cognitive neuroscience, he volunteered for one year in our lab. Anthony was an outstanding research assistant.

Ashish Sathya

Ashish is a double major in Political Science and Psychology at the University of Oregon. He is interested in how memories can inform political thought, and the interaction between the two fields. He is planning to pursue more research by going to graduate school in psychology. He is also a part of the Mock Trial team at the University of Oregon.

Austin Murray

Job Titles:

I am a High school student at Marist. I am interested in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, I am interested in studying memory, movement disorders, and mental illness. In the future, I would like to have a career as a clinician.

Ava Feldman

Ava is an Undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Interdisciplinary Cognitive Sciences. She is interested in the way that memory impacts development. Ava plans on going to graduate school and pursuing a career in child psychology.

Ben Chaloupka

Ben received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He worked in the UIC Memory Lab as a Research Assistant studying memory and future thinking with Dr. Karl Szpunar. He joined the Brain and Memory Lab in the fall of 2019. His primary research interests are in memory and consciousness, specifically studying the neural mechanisms that enable memory integration and complex memory formation. Outside of the lab, Ben spends his time rock climbing and hiking in the mountains.

Caitlin Bowman

Caitlin received her PhD from Penn State in 2015 working in the Cognitive Aging and Neuroimaging Lab with Dr. Nancy Dennis. She joined the Brain and Memory Lab in 2015 to pursue her interest in understanding the neural mechanisms of learning and memory. Her graduate work focused on the neural mechanisms of false memories as well as strategies for improving memory precision. Her goal as a postdoctoral researcher is to understand the roles of both generalization and precision in adaptive memory function and how each changes with advanced age.

Celina Maldonado

Celina graduated from the University of Oregon, majoring in psychology and linguistics with a minor in chemistry. Her primary interest is neuroscience. She decided to pursue either medical school or graduate school after graduating.

Charlie Cain

Charlie is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in Psychology. He is interested in studying memory, personality, social dynamics, and computational methods in Psychology.

Cheyna Warner

Cheyna received her B.S. in Psychology from the The Pennsylvania State University. While there, she worked as a Teaching Assistant and at the CAN Lab as a Research Assistant studying memory and cognitive aging with Dr. Nancy Dennis. She joined the Brain and Memory Lab in the fall of 2023. Her primary research interests are in cognitive aging, memory, and memory error. Outside of the lab, Cheyna spends her time reading and playing with her cat, Pickle.

Christopher Majcher

Native Chicagoan with an affinity for the outdoors, rock climbing, and reading, Christopher enjoys traveling, performing and attending music shows in his free time as well as learning more about the sciences.

Daniella Carballo

Daniella is a neuroscience major with a minor in Biology. She is interested in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, as well as mental illnesses and degenerative disorders. She aims to go into clinical neuroscience after graduation or becoming a medical researcher.

Daysia Jenkins

Daysia is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon. She is majoring in Neuroscience with minors in both Chemistry and Psychology. After graduating, Daysia hopes to attend OHSU to become a physician assistant. Her goal is to further investigate areas of cognitive and behavioral neuroscience while providing interpersonal, specialized care to her future patients.

Dilys Johnson

Dilys is an undergraduate student majoring in psychology with minors in sociology and forensics. Dilys is excited to learn more about memory recall and integration and hopes to apply what she learns when she pursues graduate school hoping to become a forensic psychologist.

Hanna Hostick

Hanna was an undergraduate student studying biology and psychology at the University of Oregon when she spent a term in our lab. She planned to pursue a career in neuroscience and is particularly interested in memory and language.

Jack Kapustka

Jack was a psychology and sociology major here at the University of Oregon. His primary interests and goals include developing a more integrative approach to psychotherapy, organizational leadership, and neurosociology.

Jessica Barragan

Jessica spent a summer in our lab as a SPUR student. At the time, she was an undergraduate at the California State University of Fullerton majoring in psychology. She was particularly interested in cognitive and developmental psychology, within the legal realm. She planned to attend a doctoral program upon graduation.

Jessie Gregson-Williams

Jessie is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology and legal studies. She is interested in social psychology and cognitive psychology, and hopes to attend either graduate or law school one day.

Jessie Moyer

Jessie spent a summer in our lab. She was an undergraduate student studying psychology. She was particularly interested in social psychology and in how reasoning and perception help develop relationships between individuals. After obtaining her bachelor's degree, she hoped to become a graduate student at UC San Diego.

Kate Gladhart-Hayes

Kate volunteered in our lab in summer 2017. She was an undergraduate at the University of Puget Sound majoring in Science, Technology, and Society with a concentration in Neuroscience. She was interested in neuroscience and trauma and planning to pursue a career in Physical or Occupational Therapy.​

Katelyn Schroeder

Katelyn graduated from the University of Oregon, majoring in psychology and minoring in business administration. Her interests include cognitive neuroscience and developmental psychology, specifically relating to early intervention for childhood trauma. She plans to attend graduate school after finishing undergrad.

Kaythlin Yuswardy

Kaythlin is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in neuroscience and minoring in biology and Chinese, while also enrolled in the Chinese Flagship Program. She is interested in cognitive and behavioural neuroscience, and developmental psychology. In the future, she is interested in pursuing graduate studies in biomedical engineering. She hopes to incorporate her studies in Chinese Mandarin in her profession to bridge the gap between Chinese and English language speakers who seek access to medical information.

Kiana Sagon

Kiana is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in human physiology and minoring in psychology & chemistry. She is interested in developmental psychology and behavioral neuroscience, and is considering applying these interests to a career in pediatric occupational therapy.

Kyla Brannigan

Kyla received her B.S. in Neuroscience from Georgia State University in 2021. After graduating, she worked as a post-baccalaureate researcher in the NIMH's Lab of Brain and Cognition studying the neural correlates of emotional face processing. She joined the Brain and Memory Lab as a graduate student in the Fall of 2023. Her primary research interests are emotion, memory, and imagination, specifically looking at neural and physiological signatures of emotional mental imagery.

Lainey Costa

Job Titles:

Lainey is an undergraduate student at UO majoring in psychology and neuroscience. She is interested in cognitive psychology, memory processing and retrieval, and psychopathology. In the future, she plans to attend graduate school and either focus on research or counseling psychology.

Le Wang

Le graduated in psychology and linguistics from the University of Oregon. He is interested in child development and cognition, particular in learning.

Lea Frank

Lea received a B.A. in Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She joined the Brain and Memory Lab as a master's student in the Fall of 2016. Her main focus is studying the neural basis of various cognitive functions, particularly memory, using neuroimaging. She is also interested in tracking the structural and functional neuroplastic changes of cognitive function in neuropathology.

Leah Hall

Leah is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in Psychology with a minor in Spanish and Sociology. She is always excited to learn about memory and hopes to pursue graduate education as well as continue to research after graduation. She also loves to play frisbee and listen to the soundtracks of musicals.

Louis Kerner

Louis was a post baccalaureate student studying chemistry at the University of Oregon. He is a student veteran, and his first degree is in Social Science from Western Oregon University. His primary goal is going to medical school specializing in primary care.

Louisa Krantz

Louisa is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon studying neuroscience and psychology. She is fascinated with behavioral and cognitive neuroscience and the intersectionality of memory and psychological disorders. After graduation, she plans to pursue her interests through a professional career in research.

Lydia McNiel

Lydia graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in psychology. She hoped to pursue a PhD in experimental or clinical psychology.

Lynn Nashawi

Lynn is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. She is very interested in behavioral neuroscience, as well as social psychology. In the future, she hopes to attend graduate school and continue to do research in the fields that she is interested in.

Madeleine Eustis

Madeleine is a student at the University of Oregon and is majoring in psychology and minoring in women's gender and sexuality studies. She interested in developmental neuroscience and how memory relates to culture.

Max Hills

Max worked with us as a senior at the University of Oregon. He was majoring in biology with an emphasis on neuroscience and behavior. He is now attending graduate school, studying computational approaches to cognitive neuroscience.

Meghan Buchanan

Meghan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in psychology. Her main interests are in mental illness prevention and intervention through counseling psychology. She is also particularly interested in the experience of suicidal ideation in college students.

Melissa Adler

Melissa graduated from the University of Oregon as a human physiology major and chemistry minor in the Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon. Her main interests include neuroanatomy and behavioral neuroscience. After graduation, she is planning on attending medical school to become a neurosurgeon.

Mia Matheson

Mia is a Psychology major with a French minor. She is interested in studying memory, psychology memory disorders, and sleep and dreaming.

Michelle Fok

Michelle was an undergraduate student who graduated in psychology with a minor in chemistry. She was a pre-nursing student, interested in neuroscience and learning about how individual experiences can influence memory and behavior. She worked for one year in our lab.

Min Zhang

Min graduated from University of Oregon with psychology major and multimedia minor. She is interested in the cognitive control and it's realtionship with clinical psychology.

Mitchell Rezzonico

Mitchell was a junior studying biology at the University of Oregon, with psychology and chemistry minors, when he worked with us in summer 2015. He was a pre-med student, interested in entering medical field with a focus in psychology.

Oliver Elliott

Job Titles:

Oliver was a student at South Eugene High School. He is interested in learning more about neuroscience and memories in the brain, and hopes to go into a science or technology related field.

Ray Jackson

Ray graduated from the University of Oregon as a psychology major with an emphasis in cognitive neuroscience. Her main interests are attention and memory, including Alzheimers and ADHD research. In her free time, Ray is a professional juggler and circus artist.

Rennie Kendrick

Rennie graduated from the University of Oregon, majoring in biology and psychology. She is particularly interested in cognitive neuroscience, and plans to conduct research on learning and memory as a career.

Riley Acker

Riley is a University of Oregon student pursuing a B.S. in neuroscience while minoring in chemistry. He is interested in the effects aging has on memory and the influence implicit memories have on behavior. He hopes to continue his education and obtain a doctorate degree. As an Oregon native, Riley enjoys spending his free time outdoors.

Riley Christensen

Riley graduated from the University of Oregon as a psychology major. He is particularly interested in cognitive neuroscience and intends on attending graduate school in Sweden after getting his degree.

Sara Garcia

Sara is currently completing her B.A. in psychology at California State University, Fullerton. She is a scholar in the Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program, and works in the vision lab of Dr. Eriko Self in the Department of Psychology. She is investigating the effects of normal aging on attention, specifically top-down and bottom-up controls of attention. She hopes to obtain her PhD. in cognitive psychology and study memory formation, particularly the construction of false memories.

Sarina Rubin

Sarina graduated from the University of Oregon, majoring in psychology with a minor in chemistry. She is on the pre-medicine track and is primarily interested in clinical and molecular neuroscience. She hopes to attend medical school and become a neurosurgeon.

Seth Ingram

Seth worked in our lab his senior year at the University of Oregon majoring in psychology. He was interested in cognitive and social psychology and how they interact together. His plan was to continue his education after graduation and pursue a career in psychiatry and possibly do research in cognitive neuroscience.

Shijing Zhou

Shijing was an undergraduate student majoring in Japanese and Psychology with primary interest in clinical psychology and behavioral neuroscience. She is thinking about either going to graduate school or medical school after graduation and currently is exploring various fields of psychology to try to find the research and career that are perfect for her. Shijing received a B.A. in Japanese and a B.S. in Psychology, as well as an M.S. in Psychology from the University of Oregon. She joined the Brain and Memory lab as an undergraduate honor student in 2018 and returned as a doctoral student in the fall of 2023. Additionally, she works at the Brain Electrophysiology Lab, where she contributes to the development of EEG-related medical devices as a Quality Management System Representative and Clinical Trial Quality Assurance Specialist. Her primary research focus revolves around sleep and memory performance in the context of aging and neurological disorders.

Stefani Aleman

Stefani studied biology and psychology at the UO. She worked two years in our lab. She was interested in cognition and neuroscience and was hoping to attend graduate school to study Public Health.

Takako Iwashita

Takako graduated from the University of Oregon with a departmental honor in psychology. Her primary interest is cognitive neuroscience and culture. She is also interested in helping refugee children with trauma.

Taylor Guthrie

Taylor received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He worked with Dr. Joel Snyder in an auditory perception lab that studied participants' ability to detect changes in their auditory environments and also worked with Dr. Jefferson Kinney in a behavioral neuroscience lab that looked at molecular links to schizophrenia. He joined the Brain and Memory lab as a Master's student in the Fall 2017. His current research interests are in uncovering the mechanisms that allow for emotion to influence the formation and retention of memories and how the access of old memories enables us to engage in the process of inferential reasoning.

Trevor Bissert

Trevor is a Psychology major with a business minor and a physics minor. He hopes to someday become an astronaut by doing research for NASA's human behavior research program studying the neuropsychological effects of long term space travel as well as effects of personality dynamics and isolation on mental illness. After graduating from UO, he plans to enter into a PhD program for Clinical Psychology.

Troy Houser

Troy received a B.A. in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He joined the Brain and Memory Lab as a graduate student in the Spring of 2022. His main focus is studying the neural basis of various cognitive functions, particularly memory, using neuroimaging. He is also interested in tracking the functional networks underlying abstract representations in the brain.

Tyler Skordal

Tyler graduated from the University of Oregon, majoring in psychology and minoring in mathematics. He would love to attend graduate school and combine his interest of both fields to either pursue research, or potentially enter a career in clinical psychology to help people.

Will Thronton

Will is student at UO majoring in psychology and minoring in Spanish. He is interested in cognitive and behavioral psychology, and mental health. In the future I want to pursue graduate studies in sports and performance psychology.

William Hou

William was a student at South Eugene High School. He planned on majoring in a science-related field and is interested in learning more about neuroscience and psychology.

Yihua Lee

Yihua received B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She joined the Brain and Memory Lab as a master's student in Fall 2022. Her main research interests are memory function and memory integration mechanisms.

Yunrui Chenault

Yunrui is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon majoring in Neuroscience and Chinese. She is interested in computational and cognitive neuroscience and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in either of those fields. Her goal is to have a career where she can conduct research, and travel around the world.

Zoey Wenyu Hu

Zoey was an undergraduate student in psychology and product design at the University of Oregon. She was interested in neuroscience, particularly in memory, learning and imagination. She was not sure which field she is interested in most, still trying to figure out what she really wanted to do in the future. As part of her exploration, she spent a year working with us.

Zora Rose

Zora was a Psychology and Philosophy major at the University of Oregon. Her interests lie in the fields of Counseling Psychology, Existential and Philosophy/Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Behavioral Neuroscience.
