Diane Smart Attorneys is a law firm specialising in family law mediation, family law litigation and divorce. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, each client is treated as an individual with their own unique needs... I completed my LLB at the University of Cape Town in 1990. Thereafter, I did my articles of clerkship at Herold Gie and was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer in January 1993. I worked in general litigation for Kaminer Krige Attorneys for 2 years before returning to Herold Gie in 1995. After a further year of general practice and conveyancing I established a matrimonial and family law department at Herold Gie in 1996 and ran the department until 2001. In 2001 I joined the People's Family Law Centre (PFLC), an NGO that provided family law services through paralegals. I was a director and supervising attorney at the PFLC.
