With over 35 years in the residential real estate business, Ann Conroy is known for her passion for the real estate industry, her love of the agents, her respect for the consumers, and her pride in the Douglas Elliman Brand. As CEO of the Long Island Division of Douglas Elliman, with its diverse markets, Ann works diligently each and every day with her senior management team and managers to study trends and execute strategies to keep all Long Island offices, ahead of the curve, competitive, and the "place to be." Under her leadership, the Long Island Division proudly boasts the number one position ahead of all competitors in the region, and keeps raising the bar for all. Ann is known for her direct approach to the business, focusing on the components of revenue, cutting through the "noise," analyzing the situation and making decisions that affect growth. Her integrity and fairness is never questioned, but respected amongst all her colleagues.
Ann started out as an agent with Merrill Lynch Realty in 1981 in the seaside town of Sayville. The real estate business grabbed her from day one and she became a top producer each year before entering Management. Her skill and talents were recognized immediately and she was promoted to Regional manager, then Senior Vice President of Suffolk County, before taking on the responsibilities of President and now CEO of Long Island Division of Douglas Elliman.
Ann was born and raised in Brooklyn before moving out to the Island, where she graduated from Brooklyn College of the City of New York, majoring in Psychology. Her first position was in the Corporate Human Resources Department of a Fortune 500 company, rising to a management position in three short years. Ann entered the real estate business after taking a short break to raise her children. She attributes her success to her family discussions around the dinner table, always business, business politics, and real estate, and especially her parent's love of buying and selling houses, as she tagged along learning to love the business from a very early age.
Ann was recognized as Realtor of the Year in May 2018 by Long Island Press, selected as one of Long Island's 100 Most influential People by Long Island Press in 2019, won the Lifetime Achievement award for Top Real Estate Executive by Richner Communications Herald Community Newspapers in 2019, and was selected as one of Long Island's 100 Most Influential People by Long Island Press. She is also a member of the board of advisors with BWG Strategy.
Ann is an avid reader, analyzes everything, sometimes to a fault, is very intuitive, and understands that to be relevant you can't stand still but need to constantly learn. She ran the Training Department for Long Island for many years and still to this day, keeps her hand in the courses offered to the agents to keep them relevant and successful. She openly acknowledges that Real Estate is the greatest business on earth, and her happiest hours are those hours spent with the best and the brightest managers and agents, solving problems, overcoming objections, sharing ideas and implementing cutting edge programs for the offices she serves.

Barbara Mattson was instrumental in opening Douglas Elliman's East Hampton office in 1997, and subsequently served as the Regional AA helping to launch the company's other offices on the East End of Long Island. Barbara is a Licensed Associate Broker and Manager of the East Hampton office, where she assists with all operations and staffing; plus she's in charge of other AAs in the region whom she supports in running their business, as well as hiring and training agents.
Prior to joining Douglas Elliman, which became Prudential Douglas Elliman once the East End presence was established, Barbara worked at Prudential Securities, so has been associated with the company for many years. She was previously in the world of financial administration both at Prudential and at a securities firm in Manhattan, her previous home, as executive secretary to the head of the options department.
Originally from Orient on Long Island's North Fork, Barbara currently resides at The Springs in East Hampton. She loves living and working in the Hamptons, and is actively involved in her community. Barbara founded and runs her own non-profit theater company, Spring Community Theater Company, which has been in existence since 2005 and has presented popular shows at local venues throughout the area. She has also given time to Maureen's Haven homeless shelter. Barbara also enjoys spending time with her family.

Barbara left behind a successful career in retail buying and merchandising with a major department store and began her career in real estate in 1984. She quickly became a top selling and listing agent with a major U.S. firm in the Merrick area, and then a broker/owner of her own Merrick based firm from 1988-1994. Recognizing the emerging importance of branding with a national firm, she merged her company with Prudential Douglas Elliman in 1994, managing their Merrick branch. Belinda Fernandez, Business Operations and Agent Success Director for Douglas Elliman Texas, has over 19 years of industry experience stemming from a very successful career as a Sales Agent selling waterfront properties on the Texas Coast. Belinda quickly moved up to sales management and real estate training for a prestigious luxury firm in Houston Texas. Belinda obtained her Texas Broker's License in 2006 and served as Interim Managing Broker for Douglas Elliman Texas in 2019. Belinda currently manages the Business Operations Team as well as the Agent Success Team for DETX and is always available to support the Sales Management Team as well as Sales Agents with industry questions and transactions.
