I founded Roemer because of an unmet medical need - mobile refrigeration for blood, vaccines, and medical supplies. Around the world, electricity is not as reliable as it is in the United States, so I switched our focus from the ridiculous need to chill perishables in the desert to providing mobile cold storage for medical supplies. I found out immediately that many industries needed mobile refrigeration when the military immediately started asking for designs and our initial research calls to hospitals showed a demand for mobile refrigeration. From blood supply to pharmaceuticals to Organs and DNA samples, medical cold storage with mobility was an unmet need. And today, we are making a real difference in the healthcare community by reducing waste of blood, plasma, and vaccines while realizing the opportunity to promote solar-powered units in less developed nations.
