Dr Christina Prechtl

Christina is dual qualified as a psychologist as well as a dietitian. This gives her an amazing perspective to help our clients, she believes strongly that giving the clients their own tools to beat their desires is crucial to success for some!

Dr Devinder Bansi

Dr Bansi is a leading gastroenterologist who helps us prepare clients and examine their gut with endoscopes if required (not routine). His help in preparing revision cases is crucial and vital. Never more so when the case has been performed abroad and operative notes are scanty. He has an unparalleled research cv and teaches at every level in the UK. As we develop anti-reflux procedures like the Linx anti-reflux device with Mr Ahmed, his pre-operative work up of acid disorders is essential and reassuring. Our newest area is of course the Endostitch procedure and endoscopic gastric sleeve technique which Dr Bansi and Mr Ahmed perform jointly.

Dr Harvey Chahal

Harvey is the lead physician in the obesity / bariatric service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and here at the clinic. He is by training a consultant specialist in diabetes, endocrinology and general internal medicine. Obviously with this senior role he is our honorary clinical senior lecturer at Imperial College London. His specialist area is in managing our clients' preparation for surgery and after bariatric surgery balancing the change in medications required as they undergo this dramatic health improvement. Most doctors are simply just not used to removing medications that are no longer needed after such incredible results from our surgery and pathways. So Harvey will balance your new health to your new requirements for less medications. Dr Chahal is the lead physician in the obesity service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a consultant in diabetes, endocrinology and general internal medicine, and honorary clinical senior lecturer at Imperial College London. He specialises in managing patients prior to and after bariatric surgery and pharmacotherapy to reduce their complication risks and optimise the health benefits of weight loss.

Dr John Cousins

Dr Cousins has trained in weight loss surgery by visiting and attending courses in nine different bariatric centres across Europe and the UK. He has anaesthetised most of the surgical cases at Imperial Weight Centre NHS since 2007. Prior to this, he provided anaesthesia for all the high-risk oesophagectomies, Nissen's, Hellers, gastrectomies, hiatal hernias and achalasias at Charing Cross Hospital London. Combining this training with his broad experience he has created a tailored anaesthetic package to allow the most rapid return to full mobility and respiratory function in patients with an increased BMI.

Dr John G Myatt

John is a highly entrepreneurial doctor who specialises in bariatric anaesthesia. Having attended specialist courses across Europe and the UK he now has an expanding active role in the NHS bariatric service at Imperial College NHST at Paddington. One of his specialist areas is the management of the airway in obese patients and he is a passionate educator in this subject. As well as bariatrics, Dr Myatt has sub-specialty expertise in anaesthesia for plastic surgery and complex ENT procedures. He has also worked as a volunteer doctor at mass-participation sporting events and was a team leader in the 2012 London Olympics. John is the director of DICT8 Ltd, which provides hospitals with a fast and efficient way to produce clinic letters and is currently developing other innovative solutions to assist with healthcare delivery.

Dr Samantha Scholtz

Dr. Scholtz is a consultant psychiatrist who is specialises in the management of obesity related disorders and the preparation of patients for bariatric surgery, based at the Imperial Weight Centre, St Mary's Hospital. She graduated from Stellenbosch University and completed her higher specialist training at St. George's University of London. She has expertise in the management of eating disorders and obesity, and has worked within 3 different national referral centres in this field. She is an expert at providing psychiatric assessment and support to patients undergoing bariatric surgery, having assessed and guided over 2000 patients through this process. She has trained in various psychotherapeutic approaches and uses cognitive behavioural or cognitive analytical approach in preparing patients when required. Her PhD, funded by the Welcome Trust Charity examined appetite and food reward changes in patients who have undergone bariatric surgery using functional magnetic resonance imaging, and her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals.

Mr Adam Topping

Mr Topping is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in all aspects of body contouring procedures after weight loss and pregnancy. He holds an NHS Consultant post at Charing Cross Hospital and works privately in London (BUPA Cromwell Hospital, Weymouth Hospital and Parkside Hospital, Wimbledon) and Surrey (Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham). Adam routinely performs other general plastic and cosmetic surgical procedures such as facelifts. Adam has been formally trained as a plastic surgeon and is on the GMC Specialist Plastic Surgery Register. He is a member of BAAPS and BAPRAS, the 2 internationally recognised plastic surgical societies. Mr Ahmed R Ahmed

Simon is a world class consultant plastic surgeon working with us in Central London. He undertakes plastic surgery reconstructive procedures on adults and children and cosmetic surgical and non-surgical procedures for adults. His specialty with the clinic is removing the excess skin some clients wish to change. He is holistic and always is available for advice but much prefers to only operate when weight loss has stabilised. Simon can give expert opinions on allures of plastic surgery and advise clients and relatives.
